In 2001, Pioneer Hi-Bred developed a GM corn variety that contained two Bt toxins, Cry34Ab1 and Cry35Ab1, to kill corn rootworms.
The company asked university laboratories to test for unintended consequences on ladybugs. Scientists fed the corn to ladybugs and found that nearly 100% died after the eighth day in the life cycle.
Pioneer forbade the scientists from publicizing the data. A scientist with the group who wants to remain anonymous said “The company came back and said ‘you are under no circumstances able to publicize this data in any way.’”
Pioneer submitted data to the EPA showing no harm to ladybugs and received government approval to commercialize the corn in 2003.
A Pioneer scientist says the commercialized variety contains a different genetic construct than the corn that killed the ladybugs.
The EPA was told about the independently produced data, but did nothing, according to the anonymous scientist. The same scientist also says Pioneer’s data is flawed.

I have an infestation of lady bugs at my house if anybody wants them. I've heard they are of the chineese variety. Do all lady bugs smell when they are squished?

As you can see this subject just bugs me "pun intended" I have loved ladybugs since I was a little girl and I have seen a slow demise of the ladybugs population. I could go up to local mountains and lift a log and there would be millions of ladybugs. now you will see half as many. very sad.

GM is also behind the mass dying of bees. I firmly believe that even though I don't have the scientific evidence to prove it. My instincts tell me that it has to be the leading cause.
This article confirms my suspicions.

I agree. They are destroying agriculture and in the process caring nothing for the species including humans effected by their greed and irresponsible technology.

It's gross how things can be hidden so easily. Lady bugs are great. I had a plant that was infested with aphids and in a day the lady bugs came and cleared them out. Or gobbled them out.

Bees also. And affects the immune system of people who have existing immune illnesses.
These crooks kinew this and they wanted the $$$$$$$$$$$$ more that they cared about the harm they did. A scientist in England was fired for finding that GMO potatoes affected the immune system of people who had autoimmune disease very negatively. His collegues all over the world went to bat for him for they fired him anyway.

Humans need to get out of their collective "terrible two's" stage and stop wrecking everything, grow up (its time), and figure out if you use toxins, well, they are going to do exactly that, poison everything....
Healthcare anyone? - 2 years ago
