Generations of children, in 120 countries, have been entertained by the likes of Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and The Cookie Monster since it premiered on November 10, 1969.

    • I was 4 years old and watching television when the first episode of Sesame Street came on. My mother told me to get dressed because we had to go out. I just remember saying "There is a big yellow bird on TV" and she had to wait.

      Thanks Sesame Street. I think my love of learning came from watching.
