slight difference there, no? Obama raised the funds. Bloomberg used his own money. Neither is correct thought. I think that that money would be better served serving the people. Schools, hospitals, things of that nature. And then, hopefully, the one who donates the most would look best in the public eye and there by become someone the people would want to vote for. But that's not the way it works. I am glad it's obama in office. But Obama, Bloomberg, or anyone; I find this process of fundraising for running for an elected office frivolous and wasteful. Jammer any ideas on how to change this?

Set aside tax money for people to use to go and run for office. No one can have more commercials than the other. No one can have more speaking engagements than another. They have to be equal at all times. Fakeness (as in Obama's promises and any politicians promises) cannot be lit up like the Time Square and wow people into voting for them because they like the pretty colors or the loud boisterousness of the person and they cannot remember anyone else's name.

    • I'm not sure which aspect of this is more disturbing. How few people voted, or how much money was spent on the campaign.

If that money was donated to New York City schools it would have done a world of much needed good.
