Army confirms 12 dead, 31 wounded at Fort Hood, Texas

The gunman was a soldier, and two other soldiers have been detained as suspects, said the spokesman, Lt. Gen. Bob Cone.
Cone said more than one shooter may have been involved.
President Obama called the shootings "tragic" and "a horrific outburst of violence." He expressed his condolences for the shooting victims.
Officials at Fort Hood, which is the Army's largest U.S. post, were asking people there to stay away from windows, CNN affiliate KXXV said. The incident took place at the sports dome, now known as the soldier readiness area, the station reported.
U.S. Armed Forceso the scene to assist, said Erik Vasys, spokesman for the FBI office in San Antonio. He had no other details.
On the Fort Hood Web site, the word "closed" is posted with the statement, "Effective immediately, Fort Hood is closed. Organizations/units are instructed to execute a 100 percent accountability of all personnel."
Fort Hood, with about 40,000 troops, is home to the Army's 1st Cavalry Division and elements of the 4th Infantry Division, as well as the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 13th Corps Support Command. It is located near Killeen, Texas.
At least 25,000 people are at Fort Hood on any given day, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon said.
Fort Hood is home to the Warrior Combat Stress Reset Program, which is designed to help soldiers overcome combat stress issues.
In June, Fort Hood's commander, Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch, told CNN that he was trying to ease the kind of stresses soldiers face. He has pushed for soldiers working a day schedule to return home for dinner by 6 p.m., and required his personal authorization for anyone working weekends. At the time, two soldiers stationed there had committed suicide in 2009 -- a rate well below those of other posts.

A Democratic Underground moron has noted:
' I’m concerned about attacks on U.S. Muslims, particularly those serving in the military.'
Yeah, good to see how concerned this person is about potential attacks that won’t ever happen versus the actual attacks that already murdered 13 non-Muslims and injured 31. As in, not at all.
We’re being told this devout Muslim who shouted allahu akbar and who appears to be the author of sympathetic gushing over violent jihadist online rants was the “victim” of being allegedly called a “camel jockey” or of treating war-injured soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center.
PUH-LEEZE.
I’ve been called “kike,” “Zionist bastard,” “Heeb,” “dirty Jew,” etc. (some of it by Muslims). But did I use that as an excuse to murder more than a dozen Americans? I went to high school with plenty of Chaldeans (Iraqi Catholics), who were regularly called “camel jockey” and “sn*g” (short for sand-n*****). And guess what? None of them shot up our school and mass-murdered Americans. And ya know what? Thousands of doctors have either worked in Walter Reed or treated military wounded for a lot longer than this jihadist. And not one has ever used it as an excuse to perpetrate mass murder. We’ve all been called names. We don’t use it to murder our troops on a U.S. Army base.

I commented earlier saying that locking up all Muslims in concentration camps was an idiotic idea, and that people who say that are loons.
It was hidden because it was apparently inappropriate.
So, I guess I'll re-craft it to be more like the other comments that remain on the article. Here goes -
"People who think Muslims should be locked up in concentration camps are like a plague and a threat to our nation. They should be dealt with."
"It is very clear that America is in a war with white supremacist, racist, intolerant numbskulls."
I'm sure this will be "flagged for abuse" as well, but at this point, I don't really give a damn. The amount of ignorance shown by many of the commenters on this article is astounding.
Open a history book and see what good has come of racial/religious/ideological paranoia in the past. German fear of Jewish people in the 20s/30s/40s, American fear of the Japanese in the same period, etc.
No good will come of allowing the racist, intolerant inmates run the asylum.
Carry on.

The “experts”–including fake doctor Dr Phil and bloated fraud Shoshanna Johnson are lecturing us that Dr. Nidal Malik Hasan, didn’t kill at least 13 American soldiers and injure at least 31 other soldiers because he’s a devout Muslim.
Or because he apparently wrote sympathetic, anti-American messages online approving terrorist attacks on American soldiers. Or because America spoiled him with free college and medical tuition courtesy of taxpayers, which he repaid by hiring a lawyer and killing soldiers. Or because he yelled “allahu Akbar” [allah is the greater or greatest (meaning greater than the Christian or Jewish deities)]. Or because he allegedly handed out Korans before the attack. Or because he was a member of the extremist, pan-jihadist Islamic Society of the Washington Area.
But none of these things are the reason that this guy perpetrated a massacre on U.S. soil, right? That’s the view of Dr. Phil and assorted other New Age psychobabblers. - 2 years ago

Muslim Garbed Jihadi Nidal Hasan Screamed "Allah Akbar" as he Mowed Down US Soldiers at Fort Hood, Death Toll Rises. At a press conference this morning, it appears Nidal Malik Hasan was a lone jihadi.
Washington - A top US Army official confirmed Friday that the suspect in the killing of at least 13 people at a Texas army base likely shouted 'Allah Akbar' (God is great) before opening fire.
Army Lieutenant General Robert Cone, commander of the Fort Hood, Texas, base where the shootings took place on Thursday, made the comment in answer to a question from NBC news.
Cone said 'there are first hand accounts' to the effect that the suspect, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, had yelled the Muslim religious chant.
NBC reported that the death toll had risen to 13, as one of the victims had died overnight.
The 39-year-old suspect in the killings is a US Army psychiatrist described as a devout Muslim who opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and had been trying to resign from the Army, according to media reports Friday.
Another 30 people were injured in the shootings. All but two were members of the military, officials said Thursday.
Cone said Thursday that investigators, who now include the FBI, had not ruled out the possibility it was a terrorist attack, but said evidence indicated it was not likely.
The talking heads are spinning this so hard and so fast I think their heads are going to fly off -- which would be appropriate. Not one newscasters, not one, can bring himself or herself to say ...jihad.

There is never a mention that legal Pharmaceutical drugs can be at least part of the puzzle of these murders. This is because our US News is supported by Pharmaceutical Advertising, only legal in US and New Zealand. Illegal in all other countries because this distorts our perception.

The Military failed these dead and wounded soldiers
Most civilians do not realize just how utterly politicized the military is.
Beleive me, the individuals that make up the military are WELL AWARE of the problem, but there's not a damn thing they can do about it. The military works for the Commander-in-Chief. Another poster suggested that the military should not allow muslims to enlist. Great idea, but "the military" can't do that - they don't have the authority. What do you suppose B. Hussein Obama's reaction would be if the military, HIS military, started trying to institute what you and I would consider to be sane policies regarding islam? Our military leaders are not free agents, not in any sense.
According to Obama, we are not at war with Islam, nor will we EVER be at war with Islam.
And yet Islam's adherents continually disprove this preposterous statement.
Islam is at war with us and has been since the 7th century. It is unfortunate that our leaders don't know that yet.
The families of the soldiers should sue the Armed Forces for NEGLECT as a direct cause for these homicides. With all the things known about this cockroach they are definitely guilty of extreme negligence in keeping their personnel safe.
With this person's record, why was a discharge not forthcoming. Major Hasan had trouble from the very beginning. He harassed co-workers and patients with his religious beliefs and political opinions, but was simply put on probation. This should have been a clue to his superiors that Hasan was really not cut out for military service. Futhermore, his postings on Islamists sites and hair raising opinions of U.S. military personnel should have led his superiors at Ft. Hood to take appropriate action. Instead, this human boil was allowed to fester until it burst. People at Walter Reed and Ft. Hood should be removed for their negligence in this matter. Pandering to Islamists will not stop until there are real consequences for engaging in such behavior.

Fort Hood Jihad Update: "Local soldier: Fort Hood shooting 'a bloody mess,'" by T.J. Aulds for The Galveston Daily News, November 5 :
"They were telling him that one guy was shouting something in Arabic while he was shooting," Tom Hunt said. "He couldn't say much more than that."
"Malik Nadal Hasan, the jihadi that led the attack on Fort Hood, was quoted as saying "Muslims have the right to rise up against the US military" "The Malik Nadal Hasan Muslims have a right to stand up against the aggressors" "maybe we should have more of these where people strap bombs on themselves and go into Times Square" - this according to Col Terry Lee who worked with Muslim convert.
The mainstream media, of course, is still searching for a motive.

Authorities were concerned about Fort Hood shooter because of Net postings about suicide bombings, etc. -- but did nothing
They should have been shadowing this guy at every step. Or would that have been "Islamophobic"? "AP source: Authorities had concerns about suspected shooter, reviewed Internet postings," by Lara Jakes for Associated Press, November 5 :
WASHINGTON - Federal law enforcement officials say the suspected Fort Hood, Texas, shooter had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.
The officials say the postings appeared to have been made by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who was killed during the shooting incident that left least 11 others dead and 31 wounded. The officials say they are still trying to confirm that he was the author. They say an official investigation was not opened....
"To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause," said the Internet posting. "Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers."

CAIR has been working overtime (they're quoted in this article also), and the "Muslims fear backlash" victimhood machine is in high gear. No one, of course, is questioning whether there might be any connection between this man's devoutly held Islam and the massacre today. After all, how could there be any such connection? Islam is a Religion of Peace™!
"Massacre Leaves 12 Dead At Fort Hood," by Kevin Whitelaw for NPR, November 5 :
[...] The motive behind the shootings was not immediately clear, officials said....
Nothing can be made clear to those who do not wish to see.
A source tells NPR's Joseph Shapiro that Hasan was put on probation early in his postgraduate work at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. He was disciplined for proselytizing about his Muslim faith with patients and colleagues, according to the source, who worked with him at the time.

Psychos are psychos, whether they be Muslims, Christians, Nazis, republicans, democrats, gangsters, corporate scum, political whores or Israels. If you want to revolt, first you need a brain and then you need an idea (or many), then you you need a plan (an original one). Then you need the support (not much) and then you need the will and devotion to pull it off. We have none of these. We are a nation of delusional addicts cowering under the power of nightmares. Same everywhere you go.

If it turns out the guy is a Muslim convert (what was his original Christian name?) and especially if he was overheard to be yelling Islamic slogans during the course of his rampage (don't know that he did, but wouldn't be surprised that a few Allahu Akbars slipped out during what he must have known would be a suicide operation), then all hell's gonna break loose. It will be interesting to see how the MSM tries to spin this one. We all know what Obama will say, that the guy is a loner who doesn't represent blah blah blah. A question I would have is if the military will start using some common sense and screen their personnel for anti-American religious sentiments. To hell with political correctness.
On the news the other flapping tongues speculating, "Was it stress?""Did he not want to go to war?"" The men at Fort Hood are searching for a motive. "Did his deployment lead the officer to commit these acts"?

if by "he had a bit islamic extremism in him" you mean, he was opposed to and unwilling to grab a gun and be sent to a country to kill its people that wanted the invaders to leave, then yes he was very compassionate.. oops, i mean extreme.

ok i agree that its crazy that he had a problem going to iraq, yet he could kill these soldiers. But you really ought to hold your tongue before lashing out your preconceived notions of what Islam is about. And another thing, strength is not measured by guns and your ability to kill.
Say that your fantasy comes true, the one of nuking an area where there is a lot of Islamic extremism, then what? Do you think that the deaths of those extremists would cause enough fear that no one would dare seek to harm the U.S. and its people? Of course not. So do you just continue fighting and killing, trying to have people fear your strength? Its not real strength in the end. If you can get someone that sought to harm you, to calm down and talk, have them leave with some mutual respect; well there is nothing stronger then that. but of course, your a trained soldier, so you would never agree to diplomacy, just bomb bomb bomb, shoot shoot shoot. - 2 years ago

So he was born and raised in the U.S.. He has always been a Muslim. Has family, makes good money, and seemed to love his country. So what made could have gotten him to snap? Well having to be deployed to Iraq was definitely a contributor, especially since he was a psychiatrist and heard so many stories from those he counseled. Another factor; the arrogant pricks he worked with that bullied him about his faith and origins. Hmmm.. sounds just like those school shootings, where it was the bullies that made good students snap. Clayjj, take a moment and re-consider your stance on Muslims and Arabs, cause your ignorant arrogance could come back to bite you in the ass.

Now we'll have to watch the verbal two-step from authorities as they sanitise the Islamic aspects of this crime from the public statements.
We're going to be informed that these murderous muhammadans were actually very nice, very polite, very family-oriented and conscientious individuals.
But they just had this need to execute infidels in cold blood.
The Western world needs to grow a backbone and pretty quick.

The term "just b4 they deploy" will probably point toward a motive for the shooter or shooters.
So that means soldiers were targeted. - 2 years ago

It could have just been the one shooter. I mean, keep in mind that these people were trained to use these weapons and use them efficiently. Look at the damage that was done at VT, and that was one guy without training.

Yes, well - people going for religion are trying to gain something. But instead of gaining anything - (besides emotional masturbation) - they get side-tracked into extremist thought-patterns.

Being from San Antonio, I have had many friends from my high school who have signed up for the military. It's sad that the first thought from these responses are so negative or are based on assumptions when all the info has not yet come out. Some opinions may turn out to be true but this being so close to home, I am asking for thoughts & prayers for the victims and families right now. My friends and family aren't sure what's happening to loved ones up there. We just know this is absolutely devastating.

Since they obviously love us so much. Wake up and smell the coffee Slarabee, these people hate you, yes you, you personally, they want to cut your head off if you will not submit to their religious tenets. They think you are an infidel and evil, you Slarabee, you and me and every other person who doesn't strictly follow their beliefs. How many times do they have to murder before you will see them for what they are?

The holocaust shooting guy was a nut, no doubt. Ok, that's one Christian crazy. How many times a day on this very website do you see stories about suicide bombers, honor killings, people right here in America running over their daughter with a car, chopping their wife's head off, killing soldiers at a recruiting station, all in the name of their religion. Or flying jet airplanes into skyscrapers, let's not forget that. Live in your fantasy world if you want, but it is a fantasy, whether you ever realize it or not.

Did the fact that the Son of Sam,John Wayne Gacy Jeffrey Dahmer, Al Capone, John Dillinger, Mark David Chapman, Lt. Robert Calli, David Koresh, The Uni bomber, or Terry Nichols were not Muslim mean anything to you ?

"MUSLIMS ARE KILLING AMERICANS ALL OVER THE WORLD ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE!!!"
Not quite true. There are 1 billion Muslims on the planet. I suspect the death toll on a daily basis would be significantly higher. You seem to have Muslim confused with radical Islamic fundamentalist. That is a much smaller group that is harder to identify. Threatening violence against 1 out of every 5 people on the planet will eventually put you at war with 1 out of every 5 people on the planet plus anyone that may "look the part".

good job slarabee, on getting the arrogant ones to display their ignorance. JohnA, rrawtry and clayjj, i pity you, and those with similar views. Its sad to think that you have been convinced that Muslims seek to kill anyone that does not share their faith. Have you really given that concept much thought? or is it easier for your egos to have a simple enemy to project your hatred towards?
With your logic, the terrorists of 9/11 flew planes into buildings and kill people because of a difference in values.. hmmm... That is some real narrow-minded-thinking.
I guess the U.S. aid to Israel's Zionist movement and slaughtering of innocent people, and exploitation of resources has nothing to do with the animosity.
Pride has blinded people to the point of accepting intolerance and igniting a self-defeating aggression.
The events that took place are very tragic. The story being told is very fishy. Yet, it is interesting how many have found a way to direct their hatred and express their ignorance. - 2 years ago

you gotta love the blinded pride in the military. Yes, those in the military are courageous, honorable, brave, etc., and their intended service is to protect the country. But lets face it, the military has been misused by politicians to fight when it was never needed in the first place. I would to hear how the U.S. is suppose to win in Iraq, especially since it was never a war to begin with. The U.S. invaded Iraq, and in the end, it should be the Iraqi people that win, though the U.S. should and will help them do that. Clay, thanks for your service, its too bad that our soldiers are being misused and misguided.
