Yes people can't buy it but a Major in the US army can and it will work in a civilian gun
this is a case of the law needing to catch up with Technology

ras_menelik:
There is no law against "armor peircing" ammo, it was a companys descision to not make these rounds availible to the public. All a AP round is, is a bullet with a steel core. And Most AP rounds can be stoped by armor now adays if not level III then level IV. Wether people kill each other with guns, home made bombs or knives murder will still happen. Stop blaming the gun start blaming the man who did these things. He could have kill a lot more by putting poisen in the food or blowing himself up

People cannot buy armor piercing rounds for this gun. I've fired this gun before and it is similar to a .22 magnum. No one besides the police were wearing body armor. This round can be stopped by Level III ballistic vests. Only law enforcement and military can purchase these kinds of rounds. Other wise you have to purchase a hollow point which is horrible against body armor, often times you can just peel them off. Before we go into a blaming game, don't look at the pistol. he could have easily stolen a m16 from the armory and killed even more people. This was a weak round, used by someone with military experience. The gun did not decide to kill people, it was just used.
