The current recession seems to have no limit, and the media has been pretty thorough in testing that. In some cases, it's what seems like the millionth Today Show segment on "recession chique" or how buying store brand food can save you money; in other cases, there is the New York Times' recent two-part series on the rise in teenage runaways ("Running in the Shadows", part 1 ran on Sunday and part 2 ran on Monday).
Just as people have been losing their homes due to what seems to be a never-ending rise in unemployment, more teenagers have been leaving due to a variety of reasons. What is most unfortunate is both what they do once they are out there, such as prostitute themselves, which is the focus of part 2; and how the help they can get is seriously lacking:

In our defense we know that our parents can barely afford to support us and our younger siblings, and rather then have them make the choice of feed the kids or themselves (and countless other issues like this) we make it for them by leaving. In my town teens have been leaving home to ease the burden on their parents and move to the homeless camp outside of Sacramento.

I find it laugh out loud funny that all these idiots want to tie every social and political ill on Obama. It's like on the episode of South Park about immigration, where everyone is yelling "THEY TOOK OUR JOBS". Then by the end of the episode it became so redundant it sounded like "DY TK R JBS". The story said they were leaving home for a variety of reasons not because of the Pres. policies. My guess kids are leaving for the same reasons they left home in the Bush43, Clinton, Bush41, Reagan, Carter, Ford or Nixon Admin. Drugs(not pot), abuse(sexual & physical), rebellion. I'm sure Obama didn't sneak into these peoples homes and ruin their family lives like when homo's do, and break down the family structure and force various forms of beastiality on the families. That last part according to Rep. sen. Rick Santorum

Teenagers nowadays are a bunch of annoying pissants. They don't even know half of what they have. And I would know. I am a teenager and I can't stand half of the people my age.

well, hopefully the average person knows that there is always hope and some standards must be lowered in order for us to survive (not prostitution) but a crappier job perhaps and an even crappier place to live. Always a job out there even if its not formal. Unless of course you live in the worst possible place.
