The Fort Hood Shooter as Victim: When Is It Acceptable to Say "Look Out!"?

Is the man who took so many lives a victim, himself, or have we become so full of psychobabble that we can't see the stark truth about a murderer?

This is a plain and simple case of a nut snapping. But this one appeared to be doing disturbing things that the military was aware of. He could have been of any faith, but this one happened to be a muslim. Islam may have been why they were ignoring shit that they should not have. Which brings me to tonight's two words:

      Incompetence or Lies

This looks like something that could have been averted if. If it is true that the military was aware of his contact with the radical mullah whose name escapes me now, then it is incompetence because he should have been investigated closely. They would rather drum out a fine upstanding gay soldier than properly investigate this wing nut? This is incompetence that is inexcusable.

Or the government is lying....... but this lie puts a spotlight on how incompetent they are. Unless it is something really freaky. I am going to go with incompetence.

Nidal Hasan explains the Koran and Islam

Here is Nidal Hasan's PowerPoint presentation about Islam, Muslims, and the military. Note the copious quoting of the Koran; the explanation of the doctrine of abrogation (citing Koran 2:106 and 16:101), which usually Islamic apologists in the West dismiss as an invention of "Islamophobes"; and the explanations of defensive and offensive jihad.

Islamic spokesmen in the U.S., if anyone asks them to comment on this at all, will dismiss it as an "extremist" interpretation of Islam and claim that no Muslims in the U.S., not one, believe in this understanding of Islam. But I guarantee you that none of them, not one, will offer a specific alternative explanation of the verses he cites, or of his doctrine of jihad, or of his understanding of Islam.

Maj. Nidal M. Hasan, the Army psychiatrist believed to have killed 13 people at Fort Hood, was supposed to discuss a medical topic while giving a presentation to senior Army doctors in June 2007. Instead, he lectured on Islam, suicide bombers and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting wars in Muslim countries.

The authorities that knew about this jihadi in the military, in the CIA, in the FBI should be fired and tried on conspiracy charges.

This was a jihad martyrdom operation in full accord with classical Islam and jihad terrorism "theory".

    • The line between free speech and hate speech, insanity and actual war, racism and ideaological clashes will be drawn once and for all with this case. The sad part is, when he was attacked (and not even physically), the law prosecuted his attacker. Now the same law will vindicate that attacker for having been right all along and put a needle in Hasan's arm after wasting a lot of money to try him for something the world saw him do. "The law, is like a very naughty lady, the more you get to know her, the more wary you are of her embrace." The Bold Ones

We have screwed our selves into a Dr. Philosophical corner. Jefferson is rolling in his grave.

    • I remember about 6 - 7 months ago Sec. of Homeland Security Napalitano said something concerning the well being of these soldiers and possible terrorist acts. The right complained about her calling soldiers terrorist unpatriotic and crazy saying "How dare she call American soldiers terrorist". Republican fail (again). If anyone is to blame for allowing this to happen it's his immediate commanding officer. To be honest, we don't know the facts yet, but if they are true, that he was on they're radar since Apr. or May 2008 something should have been done. I am sure this guy had no terrorist leanings when he took the oath. Anyone with half a brain can tell that listening to some of the stories he heard about the trauma and what some of these soldier have witnessed probably sent an already unstable man over the edge. Also if it wasn't for Obama, Soupy Sales would not have died. OBAMA!!!

    • He is no victim. He had the fruits of the system---a taxpayer financed degree, a taxpayer financed graduate degree, a job for life---and used them to kill innocent people. The people on this site pushing the notion that he is the victim, as opposed to those he murdered, are reprehensible relativists.

      I agree with you wholeheartedly.

But I'd warn against pushing the relativist label. Morals are not objective. They're culturally enforced, emotionally based and reasonably evaluated. But they are NOT a matter of "true" and "false," and -that- is truly ugly ground to get into.

    • The man is definitely a murderer. Foolish people ignored the warning signs. We have too much sensitivity to political correctness and too little sensitivity to hatred and anti-Americanism; however, s0uthc0ast, your attempt to tie this to President Obama is an example of the same kind of hatred that drove this man to kill American soldiers. It is destructive to our country to tear at our fellow Americans in such a way, and I urge you to think of the consequences of your actions.

    • This guy was a psycho. All he did was make it worse for the millions of Muslims that are NOT part of this Anti West terrorist assault upon the world. More Muslims who do not agree with this type of radical Faction must stand up and speak out, or I fear the Backlash will ruin us all. Blessings to all who have lost love ones because of these senseless acts in the name of any religion. One World, One Love!

    • There are 13 dead victims
      31 wounded.
A hero police office who stopped this defect.
      Hasan is a Muslim terrorist.
He should be executed as such.

This is the beginning of the end of president one-and-your-done.

What the fuck does Obama have to do with this.
Your whole life is myopic my friend.
      Broaden your horizons.
Try hating other individuals as well.
You really do not realize how asinine you sound do you.
And I am not even an Obama fan.
