Afghan Exit Strategy: Winning With Jobs Not Guns (filmed in Kabul)

ralphlopez
In the midst of the superheated debate over the course of the war in Afghanistan, two men, one an American, the other an Afghan citizen, release this provocative look at the underside of an insurgency. In a country with 40% unemployment, they talk to those whose voices have been missing: ordinary Afghans. See and hear them up close in the squares where they gather by the thousands looking for work, as they struggle to feed their families, working for $4 a day if they are lucky. Ranked as the fourth poorest nation in the world, many have never even heard of 9/11, nor the Twin Towers. But someone is always hiring at a good daily wage: the Taliban. The documentary reveals that a civilian solution to stability would cost but a small fraction of the present occupation.

    • This is really interesting. This is such a great idea, and yet, since our military industrial folks won't be making much money, do we even have a chance government could show enough sense to do it?

Is it really true that our troops are deployed over there mostly near the gas pipeline our puppet president we installed over there is so involved with, while other nation's forces are more scattered throughout the country?

Why do we get lied to by our government all the time?

Why don't our elected officials act when, I would easily suspect, every member of congress has been given enough material related to NANO Thermite so they can't possibly claim ignorance.

And, with this new video on a much wiser solution of Afghanistan, how can they ignore it? How many have seen it? Lets all make sure our congress-critters (disrespect INTENDED as it is well deserved) have ALL seen this video, and so can't claim ignorance.

Our country as we know it is well on the way to being destroyed from within. When do we reach a point of no return, or have we passed that mark.

Lobbying that represents just corporations and clearly NOT the people should be ILLEGAL.

Very senior govt and especially cabinet level or agency head jobs should NEVER be held by anyone holding a foreign passport.

    • our way.We see building cars as an industry. We even gave the auto manufacturers money. Some even see war as an industry. We gave the war people a HUGE amount of money. Now, if we could only view health care as an industry and give it half of what we gave the military. Matbe all out problems would not be solved, but we'd be well on

    • Incredible footage and message. Real solutions! It is crucial that we figure this out. Al Qada, the Taliban and the War on Terror is not a location anymore, the "enemy" has evolved with the times and is now a concept/ideology on the internet. We must no longer be complacent to the Afghan peoples suffering. Please vote this video UP
