1) The Afghanistan War. Obama says we're fighting Al-Qaeda, but we know that it’s about oil and natural gas and oil and gas transport corridors, and, the self-perpetuation of the military industrial machine.
Right, because the terrorists that slipped through the cracks and landed the biggest terrorist attack on civilians in the United States under the previous presidential administrations watch being based out of Afghanistan at the time wasn't a factor at all. If Afghanistan was such an important country for either the harvesting or the transportation of oil, Bush wouldn't have left it with a figurative handful of soldiers in order to knock on Iraq's door.
2) The expansion of AFRICOM, the U.S. Africa Command. Obama says it’s good for Africa, but most of us know that AFRICOM is a newly aggressive phase of imperial resource theft in Africa, which has surpassed the Middle East as a source of U.S. oil imports.
Well, from reading the statements from the white house, U.S. department of state, and the mission statement of the U.S. Africa Command, I can only guess that perhaps most of the nations of Africa are third world countries that are pretty badly off. But they might have oil, and just because of that this in no way could be a an attempt to help these nations form more stable governments and improve their living conditions.
3) The faux withdrawal from oil and gas-rich Iraq . (We all know that Iraq is still occupied, with mercenaries and security operatives replacing troops, and still wracked by violence.)
Yup. Because we tore down the former government, which was more secure than no government at all, and we still are trying to piece something back together. I'm pretty damn sure that if we pulled out completely, and the country went to shit in less than a month because of a lack of United States Military to help keep the stability, people who were criticizing Obama on his inability to pull out of Iraq would then pull a 180 and claim that it was his fault for pulling out of Iraq and letting the nation fall apart.
