The Republican has often worked with Democrats in Congress, but Charleston County Chairwoman Lin Bennett says his work on climate legislation is the last straw.
The party resolution passed Monday says Graham has weakened the Republican brand. Bennett expects a similar resolution to be introduced at the state GOP convention next year.
Bennett called his views "out of step with the beliefs of Republican voters."
Graham hasn't been able to catch a break back home lately. The American Energy Alliance, a shadowy group backed by dirty energy interests, has spent $300,000 on radio ads in the state lambasting Graham for supporting "a national energy tax called cap-and-trade."

what a bunch of lemmings!! I wish Al "the hypocrite" Gore would send some global warming my way.....it's freezing here!! It's amazing how many sheeple believe this crap of global warming. But like the song says, "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything". Good luck trying to stay warm this winter....maybe you can burn some of Al's money to stay nice and toasty. Idiots

Your screen name reminds me of most of the bills that went through congress during the bush administration: They were called the opposite of what they are.
Think about the millions of hours and pages of climate research before using your feelings to develop an view. That's what your screen name is supposed to mean, right?

I'm not sure believing the scientific community qualifies someone as a lemming. The vast majority of scientists agree that man made warming is a reality. I'm not a climate scientist (and I suspect you're not either) so I'm going to put my faith in them. That's the rational thing to do. Being a skeptical layman is arrogant and silly.

Bennett called his views "out of step with the beliefs of Republican voters."
Hmm...so Charleston County Chairwoman Lin Bennett thinks that Republican voters have beliefs instead of views or opinions. I find the choice of words interesting.

tangibleparadox, now that is an interesting question...
Personally, I have ideas, opinions, and views, but I try to avoid holding beliefs. Beliefs try to make the world static when from observation it can be seen as a dynamic and changing place. Beliefs I think at time can blind people from looking at the world as objectively as they possibly can. What do you think?

Stargate2077: i do believe i agree with you. :)
i'm suddenly reminded that my father taught me never to say "i think" but "i believe," his point being that you should demonstrate confidence in what you are saying. although, when i say i believe in something, it's not necessarily concrete. i can be swayed with evidence or a good argument.

Heaven forbid a Republican legislator break ranks with is party and participate in legislating. Shame on him.

Hey, if you let him get away with facing the realities of climate change, it's just a matter of time before he starts believing in gravity, a spherical earth, and evolution.

one way or another, politics comes into play for everything attached to a dollar,..and the bigger the dollars, the more corrupt and evil it gets.
republicans are a "brand" now...and they are not marketing themselves very well cause they have no brand identity..the brand is focusing on making sure that everyone gets enough pollution to kill themselves,..because cap-n-trade will reduce profits.
