The Ministry of Defence estates department began investigations into the source of radiation at the beach last May.
A membrane was laid along a section of the foreshore to establish if radioactive particles are being washed in from the sea, are buried in the sand or are coming from eroding cliffs.
Radioactive material has been found along the coastline for years and is thought to have come from luminous dials for wartime aircraft.
After years of testing by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), it was decided that any further work should be undertaken by the government body.
Regular updates on the monitoring and radioactive contamination recovery work being undertaken are given by Defence Estates to the Dalgety Bay Forum.
SEPA welcomed the progress made so far which has reduced the hazard to the public present on the beach.
