Maddow on child labor endorsing, pro-slavery freaks

unimatrix0
Maddow on child labor endorsing, pro-slavery freaks.
Begins about three minutes in.
The Senate Finance Committee has included sections in the Customs Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Reauthorization Act of 2009, that would ban the importation of goods made “with convict labor, forced labor, orindentured labor under penal sanctions.”
Industry lobbyists and foreign governments profiting from child labor form an “ad hoc” coalition to oppose it.

    • now you see why they hate unions. they don't want us to have ANYTHIING. they want to have slave labor. stand up for yourselves and take our country and our money back!

forced labor, child labor, and indentured servitude are not only in our past, those horrors are also in our future if we do not change the course we have been on for the last 30 years. we need to take the power back.

    • This has an air of ridiculousness to it. Child labor and slavery are relic of the past. They are something a evolved society should have rid itself of centuries ago.

The fact that it persists today is nothing more than a pox on humanity. However, there are "people" (and I use that term lightly) that would support and defend this form of manufacturing items to the point where they oppose laws that would ban the importation of those goods to a civilized nation.

If we are ever going to rid our world of injustice, then we must take a stand against it instead of siding with it. Those who side with it are no more than enemies and obstacles, and just like those who voted against the bill introduced by Al Franken against company policies not being able to violate state and federal laws (pertaining to sexual assault and rape), those who support child and slave laborers should be taken out of office.

    • Isn't the Republican Party, the Party of Family Values? ......What kind of values are, slavery, child labor, forced convict labor? They are also against legislation that regulates an employee right to sue government contractors, after being raped or attacked by a coworker.
