    • I just wonder how many of you for Obama have friends, son;s, daughter's, fathers or mothers over there in Iraq or Afghanistan? And for all of you with someone over there, why did they volunteer to go? was it because the unemployment is so high they couldn't even think of ever getting a job to even support himself. or was it purely Patriotism? HJaerry Truman said that 5% unemployment was good for the country and that was back when he needed troops for Korea. In order to keep the military ranks filled all they have to do is create a depression with high unemployment. Politicians are smart, but the public aint too smart.

    • So far he just bringing them home in Body Bags. The first thing PREZBHO should of done is either laid out a clear exit strategy (as he campaigned on) or give our troops complete support and a winning battle plan. He has done neither. SHAMEFUL!

"You won't find any money here."

I don't wanna suggest anything, but... that was one hell of a coincdence! :S

    • Nixon promised to end the Viet Nam war during his campaign, however it wasn't until he was ready to be impeached that he finally brought it to an prompt end. Probably thinking the people would be lenient on him. How long does it take to say bring this war to an end? How long does it take for the man to tell the Pentagon to end this war immediatly? Or who is the Chief? The Prez? or the Pentagon? Who is the brains who continues to feed this war? The Pentagon? How many more kids must die to bring this nation to its knees. We have a large part of this nation who still believes that Iraq and Afghanistan are responsible for the WTC. This is the result of an illiterate and ignorant public. It is a shame that the People who create war and feeds war do not feel the fear and the pain of war. Even the life of one teenage soldier or civilian is too much and until presidents and politicians and warmongering military are brought to justice and held accountable for the bloodshed and misery of war, will this or any other nation be classified as a civilized society, rather a barbarian, tryanical animal kingdom. It only takes a moment to end a conflict and as much as a month to remove all vehicles of war. Give me a break. War creates profiits and will make the wealthy wealthier. Its time to replace Washington with a system that can act immediatey without a corrupt congree arguing for a continuance and playing around with taxpayer moneys.

    • If Obama made a promise to end the war, he will, because he is a man of his word.....Obama is a brilliant President. He knows what is customary, and how to present himself when meeting foreign leaders... Obama is a very secure man, he is not out to prove a point..He doesn't have to wear cowboy hats and boots, and act rude, to make a statement......Obama is a gentleman, and he conducts himself in a dignified manner......The Republicans criticize everything that Obama does because, they are hating on him, and they wish that they had intelligent representation in their party....Their entire party is made up of clowns, liars, unpatriotic, propagandist and delusional extremists....Our President is well respected throughout the World, and the haters on the Right need to take notes......

"Our President is well respected throughout the World"

Really? The French have rethought their foreign policy once Sarkozy realized Obama was an intellectual lightweight. The Germans refuse our troop requests. The Brits are still stupified by our treatment of them. Medvedev was shocked at how little Obama new of US Soviet history and relations. Iran is scoffing at our fecklessness. Chavez thinks Obama is socialist light. Castor loves him. The rest is hope for myth.

Sorry the video has nothing to do with the post but I can't get rid of it.

    • Is it really so bad to try to build bridges instead of trying to be devisive and superior? Respecting and acknowledging other cultures' customs makes sense to me. We must respect each other, listen to each other and try to reach some sort of agreement. I think it's sad when people say, "We shouldn't even be talking with [insert country leader here] or trying to reason with them." I'm thinking... Why not try to talk? Why not try to reason? Why not try to approach each other with respect? C'mon... let's give peace a chance, shall we? :)

    • “An arbitrary structure is one in which one error has been observed and an effort has been made to correct it by introducing another error. In progressive complexity, new errors must be introduced to nullify the evil effects of old errors. A culture grows complex and unwieldy in progressive ratio to the number of new evils it must introduce in an effort to nullify old evils. At last there can be no reason; there can be but force and where there lives no reason and yet lives force, there is naught but the maelstrom (large powerful or violent whirlpool) of an insane rage.” Dianetics – The Modern Science of Mental Health - L. • Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who confessed to be the mastermind of the 9/11 terror attack, will be tried at a federal courthouse in lower Manhattan with the same rights as any US citizens. What is the purpose of this trial if Mr. Mohammed has already confessed? For the Obama administration, the trial will kill two birds with one stone and neither one is to seek justice for Mr. Mohammed since we all already know he did it.

The purpose of the trial is to embarrass the Bush administration and America itself and to give Arabs a golden opportunity to indulge in propaganda to convince the West with falsehoods regarding the root causes of Islamic terrorism; mainly that it is the consequence of US foreign policy, old grievances and America’s supports Israel.

Mr. Mohammed will have a chance to make a case against the US for the waterboarding used on him during his interrogation. That will be a confirmation to Attorney General Eric Holder’s reopening of the waterboarding investigation.

The war between Islamism and the rest of the world is largely a cultural and ideological war. Jihad, violent and non-violent, is a cornerstone of Islam that seeks to penetrate the West by any means. Jihadists are commanded to strike terror in the hearts of non-believers, as the Quran says. Deep fear resulting from such terror, renders some Americans vulnerable to appeasement rather than fight it. Islamists understand that dynamics very well and have used it throughout their history. Now that they have already done the terror, which softened some Americans, it is time to play with American’s minds; to desensitize Americans to Islamic tyranny and as to who is right and who is wrong. In the process, Islamists want us to hear their manufactured propaganda of Arab grievances and put the West on the defensive. That will not be very difficult in Western culture where many are eager to blame America first.

The purpose of jihadists is to make the victims of jihad (America on 9/11), confused as to Islam’s jihadist goals. That is why teaching violent jihad to Muslims must go hand in hand with teaching them hatred of the West, the object of jihad. Jihad education won’t work unless it is simultaneously accompanied by promoting fear and lies about non-Muslim nations Islamists want to conquer. Islamists must also convince the West that Muslim countries are their victims. This is the only way to justify jihadist aspiration. Jihad will go much easier and faster if it is packaged as self defense both to the West and to the Jihadist Muslim youth. Muslim victim-hood image must always be maintained.

The coming civil trial of Mohammed in New York is perhaps the best gift Obama has given to the Saudi Kind Abdullah, leader of the country that produced 15 of the 19 terrorists. He is giving him a chance to save face and present Islam as the victim. When Obama bowed to the Saudi King, it was a sign of subservience to Islam, whether Obama wants to admit it or not. This trial will solidify the claims by some of Obama’s czars that America had it coming on 9/11. The Arab world must be celebrating.

No American President Ever Bowed to a Foreign Leader — Until Now

      Sunday, November 15, 2009 11:14 PM

      By: Daniel Ruddy

President Obama created a new presidential precedent when he bowed to the Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko Saturday.

No president of the United States in the more than 230 years since the country was founded in 1776 had ever bowed to a member of royalty. That was until Barack Obama’s presidency.

In April, President Obama bowed to the Saudi king during the G-20 meeting. At the time, Obama’s deferential bow was somewhat obscured, and the White House insisted that the president simply had leaned forward to shake the king’s hand.

But the president's recent demonstration of royal deference to the Japanese emperor and empress suggests his earlier action was no aberration.

What should we make of this? Is it trivial to worry about what on its face could easily be interpreted as nothing more than a polite gesture by our president to respect the culture of a country?

America was founded on republican virtues — small “r,” that is. Like the French Republic, our nation does not recognize royalty or social rank, especially from officials of the republic.

The conduct of our president when he deals with foreign leaders is a serious matter. After all, he represents the American people and our Constitution.

Indeed, when President Obama bows before a foreign leader, the whole country bows with him.

It is difficult to grasp what President Obama’s motives are for bowing to foreign royalty (it would be nice if a reporter asked his press secretary Robert Gibbs why he does it).

But Obama’s motives do not really matter when we consider his behavior.

What matters is how the rest of the world will interpret his actions. When it comes to bowing before foreign leaders, there is a fine line between showing politeness and servility, between respect and weakness.

The United States leads the free world, and it goes without saying that our president as commander in chief is duty bound to protect the nation, and our allies by treaty. He should act in such a way that strengthens, not weakens, his position.

If we as American citizens wonder about how our president should act with foreign leaders when he meets with them in person, let us look to the history of the United States for guidance.

First, there is our cherished Constitution. When the Founding Fathers wrote it, they made abundantly clear their distaste of the hereditary forms of government that then dominated Europe.

Article I, section 9 of the U.S. Constitution states: "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State."

As the nation’s first constitutional leader, President George Washington set the tone. When it was proposed that he be called “His Highness the President of the United States of America and the Protector of Their Liberties,” Washington scoffed at the idea and demanded he be called simply, “Mr. President.”

No president better exemplifies the republican virtues of the country than Thomas Jefferson, who had a purely American disdain for the pretensions of royal power which he believed were not legitimately derived from the people.

As he stated so eloquently in the Declaration of Independence, power was not derived from bloodlines or royal coronations. Instead he argued that since “all men are created equal” a government should exist by “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Jefferson’s breezy indifference to the English monarchy was on display during his first days in the White House.
