Indeed. I was hoping to find a picture comparing the brains of a heavy drinker (considerably shrunk and with a lot of black on the surface due to necrosis of brain cells) with that of a non-drinker (healthy and normal) as the one in my French medical dictionary, without success. The comparison is just as scary as the one between those two baby brains.

Heavy alcoholics build up a natural opiate on their brains, which does look pretty weird, and causes the physical addiction. At least that's what I was taught in my undergrad.

Not a nice thing to do to your child. Yes, this would definately exclude during pregnancy.
But brewer's beer to help with 'let' down for breast feeders was recommended to me by my OB/GYNE after my first baby. He said to drink the beer while feeding my son, but it had to be NATURAL beer.
That's easier now than it was back then, most commercial beers were artifical garbage then.
My motto is 'everything in moderation'.

That picture should be on every poster in every bar and evrey liquor store where they have the warning sign for pregnant women not to drink alcohol. It gave me the chills.

It's very simple: Don't let your baby drink. And what are you doing taking the brains out of babies skulls anyway? They need those to be annoying in public places in the presence of people who were smart enough to pull-out.

BlowOutYourBlood - these are pictures of the brains of very young babies - the picture on the left is the brain of a baby whose mother did not drink alcohol during her pregnancy, the one on the right is the brain of a baby whose mother drank a lot of alcohol during her pregnancy, i.e. the damage was done to the developing embryo and fetus during the pregnancy.

Such brains are taken out of babies who died for whatever reason, and whose parents gave permission for using the organs of their dead babies for medical research and teaching.

Even better: wine with dinner and beer with the game!

Don't be such a buzz kill bunny. It's scientific evidence that alcohol is actually good for you. Don't ruin this for me.

I'll go with the liver failure. It just seems that livers are the organ that is in greater supply when it comes to transplants.
