Fox News AGAIN accused of airing misleading video

Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning."
However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video."
On Thursday afternoon, Fox News issued an on-air apology delivered by host Jane Skinner:

I'm not saying what Fox is perfect and shouldn't be called out when they make mistakes...but those on this site consider stories like this "news". Pathetic. However, where's the articles about Al Gore's PUBLISHED photos in his new book that are obviously photoshopped to promote his entire climate change agenda? Not a peep from this site...hypocrites. More proof that Al Gore is a fraud and this site is a bunch of whining, immature hypocrites.

I remember when people had only NBC, ABC and CBS to get their news from. These networks took pride in their attempts to be objective. Because of this Newscasters like Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrell were trusted and respected by a large section of the American public. The same news was reported by the three networks from slightly different angles but basically they tended to provide a balance that helped to keep kept each other honest. I think these men of integrity would have considered the commentators of Fox News with their one sided lies, exaggerations and sensationalism to be nothing more than jokers pushing a tabloid level of entertainment.

J_Jammer, I agree with your pursuit with objectivity, but don't overdo it. Prior TV news is very widely considered to have been more reliable than modern cable news outlets. If Wayseeker is glorifying, then the broad consensus is off. That's a lot of people you're arguing against, there.
Also, note that people point at Fox more often due to a higher rate of 'anomalies,' and that they are the most watched. Were MSNBC as popular, you'd see more people pointing fingers at their biases and mistakes. Not as much as Fox though. ;)

Incorrect - The left does not perceive him as reliable journalism; the vast majority of viewers know better.
However, the fact is that a) he's in tune with his target demographic, and b) he's funny. So of course people will watch him who might not otherwise watch real news(unfortunately). And regarding this topic, yeah, one can generally rely on Jon Stewart's program to pick up on it when Fox tries to pull fast one. It's part of the routine. But it does not translate him into a reliable news source in his viewers eyes. So don't make unreasonable leaps.
One other thing.... If, as J_Jammer suggests, Huffington Post is as devoid of integrity as Fox, there's still the issue of scale. That website cannot compare with Fox.
But for what it's worth, I would like to see a show that picks apart HuffPo if it pulls similar BS. I don't like getting propaganda, even from the spectrum I favor. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any outlets that would do this with integrity and some semblance of moderation in their partisanship.
