    • Obama and Democrats want to build a "clean" (not) coal plant in my neighborhood. Last year we had a minor earthquake. A recipe for disaster is to build one carbon sequestration plant, then add one minor seismic event. It must be a done deal because Warren Buffet is buying up coal transportation (train) stocks.

On top of that, Obama and Democrats want to force me to buy an unaffordable and defective product (i.e. profits-before-people health unsurance) or pay a fine. Something is criminal about that, and it's not the people but rather our leadership.

AND Obama and Democrats want to expand the war in Afghanistan, and not really get the troops out of Iraq.

Can someone please explain just what exactly has changed, other than milder rhetoric and better speeches?

We the People are SO screwed. I'm ready for another badly needed revolution.

    • Which is why as long as this administration like the last pushes "clean coal" and does not tackle health problems at their source through environmental and food policy, any so called 'healthcare' bill they write is useless.

    • Every report I have ever read says that the illnesses from this type of pollution cost the US more money each year than shutting down the plants as conversion to clean energy would cost each year.
But with insurance companies and pharmacuticals running our government, conversions will not happen as they should.

Coal pollution is assaulting human health through impacts on workers, residents near mining operations and power plants, and the environment in coalfield communities, according to a new report by a group of physicians.

The report by Physicians for Social Responsibility examined coal's impacts on major organ systems of the human body, from the lungs to the brain.

"The findings of the report are clear: While the U.S. relies heavily on coal for its energy needs, the consequences of that reliance for our health are grave," said Dr. Alan J. Lockwood, a University of Buffalo neurologist and principal author of the report.

Any society that would give up their own planet and health to the almighty dollar is morally bankrupt. Especially when they know there are options that could save the sustainability of the planet and health of the people and still work against them.
