Politics of religion: Kennedy barred from communion for abortion stance

In the politics of religion a Catholic Bishop has barred Congressman Patrick Kennedy from taking communion. Kennedy is being denied communion because of his public policy stance on women's reproductive health. Clearly the Bishop, and by extension the church and the Pope, want to punish Kennedy for following his conscience and doing the right thing.
