As degrees are worth less and less these days, it becomes important to research into the viable career aspects for students earning associate’s degrees.

    • I think the main benefit of an associates degree nowadays is an easier transfer into a 4 year university. I have a lot of friends that couldn't afford 4 years of university tuition so they're transferring from a community college to save some money. I'm told it's also a simpler process as far as credit transfers go when the associates has been completed.

      These days I don't think it would be worth much more, however. There are too many unemployed people with undergraduate degrees for an associates to be of much significance in this market.

    • An Associate Degree will get you a job that a high school graduate might be able to get. Except you'll be able to advance about 4 times faster. It is also equivalent to about 1 to 2 years experience in the job field.

      So, in other words, you will want to stick around for you Bachelor's Degree. The potential to make close to 6-figure salaries come with the territory.
