More than 27 per cent of Britons exceed the recommended weekly limit of alcohol compared with just ten per cent of people in Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
This is not suprising! have you seen any town centre across the country of a weekend?!

I think it's cos we're all depressed but just don't know it, and alcohol is one of the 'funnest' most sociable escape route we can find, I know i'm not speaking for everyone here, but this would be my general guess for the population at large
