Teabaggers shout down grieving mother

Image

A group called the Chicago Tea Party Patriots publicly heckled a grieving family and suggested that the couple fabricated their tragic story.

At a town hall held by Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) on Nov. 14,, Dan and Midge Hough spoke about how they believed the death of their daughter-in-law and her unborn child were caused, in part, by a lack of health insurance. Twenty-four-year old Jennifer was uninsured. According to her in-laws, she was not receiving regular prenatal care and was not properly treated when she got sick. She ended up in an emergency room with double pneumonia that developed into septic shock, had a heart attack, a brain bleed and a stroke. The baby died and Jennifer died a few weeks later.

Midge Hough was heckled by anti-reform crowd members. "You can laugh at me, that's okay," she said, crying. "But I lost two people, and I know you think that's funny, that's okay."

    • Funny, I wish I could go to some of these meetings wanting some pro government or union goon to try and take my sign. Looks like the left does not like its' tactics used against itself. Teabaggers huh. Use of that term in the description of those who stand up for freedom and this country shows the great extent of the ignorance and hate used to discredit them. \
      Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I'd say heckling a mother whose child died due to a flawed healthcare system would be a decent sign of psychosis, just saying.

And please don't start with the freedom bullshit, the only freedom conservatives believe in is the freedom for corporations to ship jobs overseas.

Interesting comment because I can provide plenty of scientific evidence of precisely the opposite.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, it is conservatism that is the mental disorder and it's been very thoroughly studied and peer-reviewed.

I'd be happy to share the studies on request. From what I have come to understand though, most people like yourself wouldn't want to hear about it...

    • It is sad that America has come to this state of confusion. We have lost all compassion, caring for our neighbors, community sense of outreach. Those that struggle to help those in need are considered communists, un American while the uneducated, greedy tea baggers are running amuk and gaining support. Sarah Palin, their leader calls them the Christian back bone of America, small town America. To me small town is driving thru Iowa and your car breaking down and three cars stop to help you and don't leave till professional help arrives. Have they changed to teabaggers?

Shame on these people and shame on all the Christian pastors, priests, ministers etc for not speaking out. These people are using your religion, your Lord as the basis for their hatred. Your silence speaks more than words can.

    • I often wonder how these people even manage to get to the meetings? Their collective IQ's are far surpassed by their limited vocabularies. They are opposed to anything not spoon fed to them by the their ideologues but completely unaware their so called idols do not have their best interest in mind. Far from it, they are only concerned with selling book, air time and ratings. The rubes are just superfluous fodder for the opportunistic blow-hards. There would be nothing wrong with this under normal circumstances but the fools run out and shout down actual intelligent beings that deserve nothing but sympathy and respect.

    • Why don't I ever get invited to these rallies or know about them. I would love to be there and hear some idiot laugh at someone that's trying to tell a story of losing someone because of health care issues.

God damm!! I can't stand fucking pricks and assholes with no backbone! They stand up and talk shit to a woman but let it be man or someone their size and watch them hide their tail between their legs, cowards!!
