You are overlooking an important point, or several, actually. Whether it is intentional, inadvertent or wishful thinking I'll leave up to you to decide.
1-Many of these detainees were picked up hundreds and thousands of miles from the battlefield: Thailand, Bosnia, Africa, etc.
2-Many of these detainees were victims of Bush 'bounties' and whose accusations have no basis in fact whatsoever.
3-Bushco had already let most of them go when he was in office (after torturing them of course).
4-Most of the 'confessions from any that 'confessed were coerced by brutal tortureSo tell me, why the fuck shouldn't the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth come out for all to see?
See people like yourself 'believe' that America can do no wrong. The good Germans believed *exactly* the same thing in the 1930s and 1940s.
Why wouldn't they? After all, they were 'patriots'.Some people never learn from history, others ignore history altogether.

Their real fear is what will be brought out in a trial and Dick Cheney is quivering in his boots. We have nothing too fear we already have hundreds of terrorists in jail and prisons right here in America. How can we ever forget keeping the American people in fear is the Republican and Corporate overlords main weapon in deceiving us. I want the truth and when the terrorist are found guilty we can have a resolution right here where they caused the terror. If you can not handle the truth that our constitution has provided us then move to another country while we try and take back justice that is rightfully ours.

I have to agree that the terrorist should not be tried in NY or the US, they should be tried before the world court. Afterall, illegally invading a country, torture of prisoners, kidnapping from foreign soil all worldwide crimes. Pack Bush and Cheney bags someone.
