The Justice Department has concluded that there is insufficient evidence to bring criminal charges against former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales for allegedly misleading Congress about the Bush administration’s warrantless eavesdropping program.

The decision was first disclosed yesterday by Murray Waas in a little-noticed posting on the blog of New York Magazine. The magazine cited public court records and federal law enforcement officials as its sources.

    • The sneering faces of insanity on the loose, still trampling on the freedoms and liberties guaranteed by the Document of the ages. There will be no Justice and no America if the scales of justice do not point to the Bush's Clinton's and et al, in order to reestablish the rule of constitutional law very soon.

It sure appears to me that we the people, no longer have checks and balances, so I would recommend that the Americans must create their own Civil Justice department, to hold The Government accountable for its crimes and misdeeds because the US Government is not capable of administering justice to its own. As the US Government keeps getting bigger and bigger, the American people continue to lose the constitutional guarantees provided by the founding fathers. It is necessary for all states to come together and demand the right to have their own system of checks and balances to counter the beligerance toward the commoners that is held by the government. All Governments lose their way when the people become passive and take politics for granted not realizing that a Government without a watchdog can become vicious and out of control as witnessed by the USA for the past 100 years. Our economy is controlled by a pack of greedy international financiers known as the Lords of Finance. America needs to break away from this international stronghold and mint our own national currence and conduct international trade by letters of credit, hence the international finance will function completely seperate from the national economy. There is need to out law things like junk bonds and bundled Mortages as sescurities for the purpose of playing games that are fixed so the American people are always the losers and yet they are not even aware that they are in the game.

    • Ragan:

Great comment Ragan, but when someone thinks like you just said, the government thinks of that person as a traitor and can arrest him for an unlimited time, without question, attorney or anyone in his family knowing.

      Again though, great comment!!

    • "Insufficient evidence"...what a load of shit. Just b/c he says he doesn't recall anything regarding warrantless wiretapping. Hey Gonzales, do you "recall" being the U.S. Attorney General?

    • Since I was a child
I've tried to be what I'm not
I've lied and I've enjoyed it all my life
I lied to my dear mother
to my sisters and my brother
and now I'm lying to my children and my wife

      Big Hat, no cattle
      Big head, no brain
      Big snake, no rattle
      I forever remain
      big hat, no cattle
      I knew from the start
      Big boat, no paddle
      Big belly, no heart

Can't remember why I do it,
      Oh, maybe I can.
An honest man these days is hard to find.
I only know we're living in an unforgiving land.
And a little lie can buy some real big piece of mind.

When it came down to the wire
I called my little family to my side
Stood up straight, threw my head back and I lied, lied, lied
      lied, lied, lied

    • Too bad the terrorists of 9/11 didn't go after those 2 heinous piles of shit in the photo. More people would have been offering to buy them a beer(though Muslims don't drink) than would have supported the infamous "Patriot Act" which Federal Judges have struck down 2 parts of, and yet another Federal Judge has opined via U Tube is UnConstitutional. Bush,Cheny, Ashcroft, Gonzales, and Bush's 3rd of 3
shitbags were the scourge of the USA for 8 years after they crawled out from under the rock they came from. Don't forget that a Texas prosecutor had them Indicted for
the criminal atrocities that Cheny & Gonzales fostered in the private prisons they'd
made huge profits from. I don't personaly like guns, but if I did, I'd own a 9mm with a matched barrel, and do regular target practice focusing on the immage of those 2
Racketeers. Don't they look more like a modern day Al Capone and Frank Nitty than even the usual cheap hack politicians though ? It doesn't surprise me that Bush, who openly admired a monster like Adolph Hitler, promoted Gonzales from his personal lawyer to A.G. Winston Churchill called Hitler's bunch both the terms:
"the Maniac", and "Racketeers" also. So i know I'm in honorable company there.

    • How sad that Guido gets off scott free. He was the most unqualified Attorney General I have ever seen. And I use Attorney general rather loosely.
