The NESRI has published a report that a single payer healthcare plan goes further towards meetings human rights in this country than market based care. Yet Congress and even the President deny even the consideration of such a plan. The President say that in the U.S. our market based health care insurance system and all the surrounding medical debt that people get into just to stay alive, make up one-sixth of the economy. What he always fails to mention is that in a country where one percent of the people control over half the wealth, most of that one-sixth of the economy falls in that one percent of the population. So once again, he is afraid to forsake Wall Street for the people of this country, their welfare and their human rights to a health life, as the people of every other industrialized nation have.
Meanwhile Congress is fighting over whether or not to keep the health insurance lobbyist authored public option plan as part of the current, so called "health care reform" legislation.
Hello? Congress? You out there? Remember us? The thinking people who can see right through all your bullshit? Guess what? We still demand single payer healthcare and we ain't gone nowhere.
