same goes for these thugs, they put their life on the line so they can lie, cheat, steal, murder, rape, assault, set people up... they chose the life they lead, if they die doing their job then thats fine with me. the more the better

my point was that cops should not be at war with the people.

My guess: it is motivated by money coming from the meth trade, to further corrupt the police force.

My hope: it is motivated by citizens fighting police corruption and the meth trade.

I don't see how killing people is a way to fight corruption, or a way to solve anything. And there is no proof to suggest that corruption is involved here or not. One of the victims in the Halloween shooting was a rookie fresh out the academy. What this will do is create a rise in police aggression to anyone who gives them a dirty look. How does it serve anyone to have the people who are there to protect you look at you as a possible enemy? Nothing good can come of this.

They already look at us as the possible enemy, unless you're white and rich, that is.

I understand that there is a racial factor here but I feel none the safer for being white since I live mere FEET from where the Halloween shootings happened. I can't say I have love for police but they serve a vital purpose in society and like them or not they do a job not many of us would want to do. I'm not making excuses for them to racial profile (I've even "fit the description" once before) or use excessive force but we can't go around killing those we don't like at random.

Those are all horrible things. But it doesnt mean all cops are bad. Thats why I say I have mixed feelings. I know some cops that are really good people and they do their job like they should instead of arresting people for nonsense crimes. But there are some horrible cops that do bad things. I dont think either deserve to die. And who knows if these 4 killed were good or bad.

I agree nkeg87, but this country is now under intense pressure from the bottom up with a declared war on drugs it's a no win situation for the cops.

@nkeg87: Obviously, all cops aren't bad. But then again, most black people aren't bad, do the cops lump them all together by profiling? Most muslims aren't bad, do the cops treat them differently than blonde, white, blue-eyed people? Victimizing any group because of the horrible actions of some in that group is wrong. But it seems like the cops are just as guilty of profiling as the people who hate all cops.

I know you say that you have mixed feelings, but then you say even if they were bad cops (regardless of what they've done to be labelled "bad cop", I guess) they don't deserve to die. Well, many, many people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time don't deserve what they get from the cops either. What goes around, comes around.

When I hear about someone abusing their power to such an extent it makes me want to interrupt his dinner by shooting him in front of his kids. But that would make me a hypocrite so I won't.

You think these things are bad (they are)? How many innocent people would be killed everyday if there weren't any cops? Police should not get away with criminal activity but you can't just get rid of them either. I've had a few run-ins with asshole cops myself, but I am not naive enough to think the country would be safer without them, we would be living in one big Somalia.

It easy to get frustrated about issues involving their enforcement ethics.. But were all connected. Their salary is dependent on our tax dollars. However cold you want to be about the situation, it was still an investment towards order and justice that has just $hit the bed. You may not have known these people personally but someone you do does. I dont speak for everyone, but in most families there is a cop whose a cousin or uncle or father or sister, daughter, husband or wife.
Maybe they were involved in bad things that brought this upon them, possibly not. I am sure either way, they originally became citizens on patrol to keep the peace.

Their job is to uphold the law. You don't like the law, then work to CHANGE it.

I notice how you completely missed or failed to respond to the comment about pigs setting people up. How about the ones who beat people after they have given up? Or the ones who beat confessions out of people. Or the so-called "good cops" who dont rat out the bad ones for fear of what will happen to them if they ever need back-up? The ones who take bribes to look the other way. The ones who use racial profiling. NAHHHH that doesnt happen. Cops dont racially profile people.

my brother was handcuffed and beaten by officers who were pissed off about another cop being shot. the cop who was shot lived, but my brother just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, so the cops beat him up, even though they had already caught the guy who did it. and yes, the handcuffed and *then* beat him.

In my area, it is common knowledge if a cop sees you with a camera(or camera phone) pointed at an arrest(or sometimes just at them) you have it confiscated(stolen, not to be returned) and you are arrested on the spot. Even if you were only texting your friend and didn't notice the cop. In this way a cop can never be taped while beating someone to death.

@CalPerr, Fortunately, technology is very quickly catching up with their tactics of confiscating video evidence of police brutality. Many phones now are able to live-stream their video to another location for recording. I am sure a number of other video cameras will start to have this wireless live-streaming capability soon.

Granted, not all cops are bad (although I consider "so-called good" cops that cover up for bad cops to be "bad" themselves), but it is nice to get video evidence of the bad ones committing crimes.

I live in Seattle. This is the second assassination event in a month. The last happened on Halloween when two cops were sitting in their cruiser. One was killed while the other got away with minor injuries. Plus there were four cop cars fire bombed late in the night on Oct. 22nd. Shit is getting crazy and there is no clear motive behind any of it except a group of people out there really hate the police.
