That’s the question muckraker and Indiana University graduate student Christopher Soghoian asked all agencies within the Department of Justice, under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed a few months ago. But before the agencies could provide the data, Verizon and Yahoo intervened and filed an objection on grounds that, among other things, they would be ridiculed and publicly shamed were their surveillance price sheets made public.

Take full ownership of your life and practice full disclosure, then at least you can say that your life is an open book and privacy is irrelevant.

the patriot act removes any requirement for probable cause in illegal searches. it nebulously assumes it.

I knew that the same ones who were screaming civil liberties would be the first to turn what was intended for foreign terrorists, would reverse it and use it against their own populace.

I object to Yahoo and Verizon objecting. :) Absolutely MotherForTruth, thanks again Patriot Act for making it easier for the government to violate me sans lube.

This is just absurd, this is our proof that we have no freedom of privacy anymore. But who will actually break out of their peaceful bubble of regular life act out and attempt to bring these companies down?

So Yahoo claims that if they release this information to the public it will ’shock’ their customers.” and will "lead to impairment of its reputation". And Verizon thinks that the public is stupid and this information "might confuse customers".
This is sickening! Thanks to the Patriot Act and a like laws. - 2 years ago
