President Obama, speaking on Afghanistan at West Point, rose above politics. President Obama articulates a new Afghanistan war strategy, a strategy of transition and withdrawal. The strategy makes the best of of a bad situation.

    • Actually it is the exact opposite of what you say. Politics was evident throughout. The fact that he listed a timetable, indicates politics. War is messy and if you engage in it, there is no way to set realistic timelines. The commanders know that. Those timelines are for the politicians.

      Pull the troops out now.
