This is a new speech made by the author Douglas Rushkoff.

How corporations and our current monetary system have brought society to be enslaved like.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, it all started in the Renaissance with monarchy and monopoly.

He offers solutions and a new, alternative currency, the one based on exchange and connection.
Restoring a sense of self worth, wealth and joy in our lives.

I personally think that this is the kind of revolution we need to solve many if not all troublesome aspects of our World, including the Environmental one.
In a society where corporations and monopoly can't be allies of our government, where power doesn't belong to a few and greediness can' t camouflage as "capitalism", our environment (Alternative energies, Organic and natural agriculture practices, focus on renewable resources etc) would be safeguarded and ignited.

    • I don't know why david ickes ended up in this thread.

I don't think trans-dimensional aliens are to blame. Just human greed.

    • We need to get past this old value system. This is correct.
I know that in this Bushy Neocon Oil economy the only solid job I can get at my age as a woman is cleaning cottages...with my education and great references.
There is a lack of value in me working as a mother really hard..I made an organic garden and worked mowing our 2 acres of lawn and was considered valueless for 25 years

      Worked as a volunteer...monetarily valueless.

      My suggestion is;
have a pool of money that allows people like me a minimum wage for working if we need it. That was the community can get great and loving services for free or a nominal fee if the person needs it..and we don't need to get a job bagging at Shaw's to make ends meet.

This would also apply to people who are caring for their elderly parents as I have with no type of award except the decency of being able to sleep nights.

In the old economy the man worked and made enough for his wife to volunteer.

    • One more is the quote from the Dervaes family (Agriculture - small family farm):
      http://current.com/items/91245349_the-human-existence-depends-on-the-top-six-inc...

"If you can grow food, it's empowering, it's powerful, in fact I would say that growing food is one of the most dangerous occupations on the face of this Earth because you are in danger of becoming FREE"

The redistribution of wealth, the road to independency is what scares the biggest corporations, big oil, big ag and the big pharm.

Their business would collapse if we become "FREE" (relatively) and ours would start growing.

    • This also makes me think of an other great speech which is the perfect addition to this above:
      "Turning of the tide"

It's a bit long but so very worthy:

"Exposing the real story behind global events, which shape the future of human existence and the world we leave our children.
The veil lifts on an astonishing web of interconnected manipulation to reveal that the same few people, secret societies and organizations control the daily direction of our lives, & how the same people on apparently different sides of politics are actually connected to the same elite organizations.

These organizations have the same proven agenda of a world government, a world central bank, a world army, a world currency, and some say a micro-chipped population. "OPPO-SAMES" These apparent opposites in politics are there to persuade us that we are not living in a prison, that we have a choice. Yet these persons are not opposites at all but are part of a one-party state."
