Music fans who can't stand the thought of Simon Cowell giving a well-funded bunk up to the Christmas number 1 spot to this year's X Factor are forming a protest online.

Via a Facebook group and Twitter, over 43,000 members have pledged to stick it to the man with the high waistline by buying Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name'.

The Facebook group explains: "Fed up of Simon Cowell's latest karaoke act being Christmas number one?

"Me too... So who's up for a mass-purchase of the track Killing In The Name... as a protest to the X Factor b******s?"
