Via a Facebook group and Twitter, over 43,000 members have pledged to stick it to the man with the high waistline by buying Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name'.
The Facebook group explains: "Fed up of Simon Cowell's latest karaoke act being Christmas number one?
"Me too... So who's up for a mass-purchase of the track Killing In The Name... as a protest to the X Factor b******s?"

As far as I can tell, it's the original version. Sources like NME and Sky aren't saying anything about a new version so I'm presuming it's the one we're all familiar with.
This isn't something the band have decided to do - it's a guy and his girlfriend who aren't happy with Simon Cowell "ruining the tradition of Christmas Number Ones".
