Spirit on the Streets

nicklogan
Hare Krishna devotees have been a fixture on the streets of major cities, around the world, for more than 40 years. Armed with spiritual literature and sporting saffron robes, they are instantly recognizable as they chant and drum but their presence is not necessarily understood. The Hare Krishna, following the teaching of a centuries-old spiritual movement, from India, hope to impart the teaching of the Bhagavad-gita and the practice of Bhakti-yoga. Being on the streets and greeting people passing by is a part of the tradition, followers say, and one of the great benefits.
