A man who was tased by Bay County Sheriff’s deputies choked to death on a “large bag of marijuana,” sheriff’s officials said Friday morning. Part of the incident was caught on tape.
Authorities said Andrew Grande, 23, of 219 Placido Place, was running away from deputies at the Executive Inn on Front Beach Road after they responded to a physical disturbance there at about 2 a.m. Friday., according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The deputies made contact with a female victim, Crystal Amber Cronnon, 22, of 103 Dana Way, who identified Grande as the person who assaulted her.
When deputies confronted Grande, they were able to place one handcuff on his wrist and during the struggle they “observed Grande attempting to place something in his mouth.”
Grande managed to free himself from the deputies and stood up, and that’s when he was tased, officials said in a news release. Grande then pulled the stun gun probes out of his body, the release said.
Some portion of the incident was caught on film by a camera crew working for the cable network Tru TV. The crew was doing a ridealong with the deputies, McKeithen said.

The Florida cops are encouraged to make possession of marijuana busts against young people. Florida has the most harsh cannabis penalties of all 50 states including federal. The strictest, cruelest southern redneck cops are supposed to do things like this. Governor Crist and his predecessor Jeb Bush, and State Atty Gen'l Bill McCollom are responsible for this and all other cases like it.
The cops murdered that kid. He got the death penalty with no trail or jury, for possessing some marijuana in a redneck state.
Vote "NO" on Crist for Senate and McCollom for Governor in 2010.

I am writing to you so folks don't think my son was a bad person. Andrew was strong not only in muscle strength but he had a strong heart and a Love for life and his family and friends. He made mistakes yes as everyone does in their life but he wasn't a bad person. He spoke to his sister not long before the incident and he told her "I am done with this habit and I am going to Panama City to give it back and get my money back! I want my life to be changed I don't want to hide or lie anymore I Love you Sis and I will be picking you up from school when I return". You see he made a change just before his life ended and I beleive God has just taken the most beautiful strongest angel he could. I Love my son and I want everyone to know if you needed something whether you where a stranger or not and my son had what you needed he gave it to you because thats the way my son was.He has a very giving heart and very loving soul. Please all remember my Andrew as the giver with a big heart.This poem was written by Andrew as well as many others but I want to share it .
Friends are people who are always there,
When your stranded alone and need some care,
Friends are people who won't bring you down' no matter what said or roomers going around,
Friends are people who are honest and true,
Mind to you most when you feel a little blue,
Frieands are people who give you advice,
If your the problem or no matter the price,
Friends are people who are happy to attend,
and don't take advantage of you,
or gossip and pretend,
Friends are people who can make a mistake,
Then later apoligize,
to the heart that they break,
friends are family near or away,
Even when they die,

So I recommend you go out and expect,

and nothing less than half perfect.

Deserved to get tased? I disagree. The thing about tasers, pepper spray, night sticks, guns; all that type of police gear, the thing almost everyone agrees on, is that they should only be used when ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY...
Police/Sherrif's Officers are supposed to be trained to deal with stress, tough situations, all that and are supposed to make the proper judgment call. That's what they are paid for, that's why we aren't all vigilantes.
This guy had one cuff on him, and by the published accounts there was a struggle but no police officer or civilian was being assaulted by him when, or just before he was being tased.
Outrageous, excessive, and uncalled for. Much like the drug laws that put this young man in a position to feel forced to eat his Marijuana...
But no your right mr_tibbles; the young man very much needed to surrender his rights, personal freedoms, and ultimately his life to appease the ego of some DICK of a cop.....

Not once did I imply that this young man "very much needed to surrender his rights, personal freedoms, and ultimately his life" so please act like an adult and don't put words in my mouth.
My point is that when you mess with the cops you take the risk of getting your ass beaten and/or tased. Anyone who has ever dealt with a prick cop knows that these guys don't screw around. This guy was being held on the ground by three cops and he still managed to get up. Sounds like he put up quite a struggle to me. Not only that, they even warned him that if he continued struggling he would be tased. When a cop tells you that he's going to tase you, chances are he's not joking. I am in no way saying that this young man deserved to lose his life, but perhaps if he would have cooperated he would still be alive.

Not exactly the 2 for 1 story I was looking for.... Horrible, they didn't need to shoot him with the taser, and he damn sure shouldn't have felt the need to try to swallow a large bag of Marijuana that was otherwise practically harmless.
