Presenting at the Copenhagen Climate Conference on December 14, 2009, Al Gore told attendees at that Arctic ice would be gone in five years. Gore cited Dr. Wieslav Maslowski as his source. Dr. Maslowski later responded that “Its unclear to me how this figure was arrived at. I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.” Gore was later forced to acknowledge he fudged the data. Sounds a lot like ClimateGate.

    • Tell the people what they want to hear. Gives great speeches unless you check his facts. More of a talker than a doer never had a real job his entire life. Love current though.

    • Al Gore has been doing the same thing I've been doing => stirring the butter churn really fast. So far I haven't gotten any indications he's one of the elite... but with his money he could easily be Numero Uno. I don't spend any time trying to figure out who's in it and who isn't. But I figure the ones who really are are quite able to make themselves invisible. By that rule Al Gore is excluded.

That being said I think it's becoming clear America is following in France's footsteps. I believe these mini nuclear power plants are in the pipeline, soon to appear in a neighbor's yard near you. We're going to outdo France with mini nukes all over the North American continent like bees in a beehive.

And the bees be damned. They'll hafta get out of the way. How much of this Al Gore knows about, or how much Al Gore has his body neck deep in the planning stages is anybody's guess, because that's all we can do => guess. I know that offends you all because somehow you hold onto this idea we're all equal, or something else so yesterday.

Big Daddy government is going to take care of his children as long as we continue signing up children fed into their machine to go mow down somebody on foreign soil who offends our national pride or sense of morality. America passed 3,000 dead bodies compensation for 9-1-1 a long time ago.

Al Gore isn't a Saint yet. He still likes the fat wallet. Anyway, I've flooded the Internet since 1989 and 2003 and 2005 with zero pollution engine systems that don't pollute the planet and no one has chipped in for me to build em, so the only reasonable explanation where we're headed (being led by a nose ring) is found by process of elimination. Don't want mine, don't want other inventors, so what's left?

Nuclear reactors everywhere. Welcome to New France.

So, a lot of you want to escape religion eh? Well here's a thought. Keeping combustion engines -and nuclear- produces Pollution, and as long as Pollution is being produced a majority of folks will KEEP PRAYING TO GOD FOR HELP. Help for them, help for the little species in the hot water and oh yeah, the ever-present biggie the "children and grandchildren". Duh.

Your choice of engines is keeping religion around.
Your choice of engines is keeping religion around.
Your choice of engines is keeping religion around.

Them's da facts. The winner isn't always the first one across the finish line.

My "car engine" will produce 1100% the power of a combustion engine and does not produce any exhaust whatsoever. So it would run trucks. It's a "closed system" so there's no fuel being added and no exhaust of any kind. It uses air and water, two inert fluids, water heated into steam injected ahead of the supercold liquid air.

They explode without combustion, like a tornado, it is a weather engine. In early 2008 I came to design it in more specifics it's a turbine actually. The pistons have an inner-faced head that has flaps, so when it pushes in it pushes fluid into the turbine, but when it returns the flaps open, much like a mechanical heart valve would do.

My engine is a real trick, just like a number of other engines I have. Anyway, the shocks and springs are replaced with compressors that recompress the expanded air... so it makes its own imitation fuel from the road bumps and car body inertia. After the two meet inside the cylinder their temperatures cancel out, so the engine never overheats.

So the system loses both the cooling and exhaust systems, which is a terrific loss of excess weight. The way the engine balances temperature it defeats the three laws of thermodynamics, because thermo laws apply ONLY to heat-producing systems. My system defeats heat.

Since the engine is so much more powerful than combustion engines it could take up small engine compartment space, about like a VW engine of old. hahaha Now you can consider yourself bitten.

My other "big" engine defeats Entropy. They say that can't be done either.

I've been designing Gravity Wheels for powering homes since March.

We'll get nuclear looks like, you know, big hammers.

My engines make people feel good inside => No Waste like manworm.

I've been on full disability, don't have the money or organization for building one. I tried contacting Gov. Granholm of Michigan 3 times by fax but fax screeners are everywhere it appears. I must've made it to the Lex Luthor Look Alike List. Blacklisted. I'm a purveyor of disruptive technologies.

Actually, all jokes aside, when I first fixed the failed compressed nitrogen engine of 1997 I rather thought when I started writing about it a bunch of highschool guys in auto shop class would build it. I miscalculated that one. All the electronic gadgets flooding the teens must have stopped high school mechanics.

My system is much more than just an old engine. It sends power to two transmissions, one to the front end for lower gears in snow but once out on the interstate it releases from the slow trannie and goes to back wheels for straight drive. I don't reckon they want people going that fast. It would get yer bacon down the road like the Utah Salt Flats.

In short, my system does everything present systems can't. No fuel AND super fast. Maybe I could do something if people understood a closed system means travel on the water or underwater. Outer Space. hehehe I have a few systems that do anti-gravity too. You could get in yer car for a trip, come out your driveway turn left, turn right, or go straight up. Maybe 4-6 hours to the Moon.

You see there treewolf, your instincts were not telling you wrong. Many people have thought the same thing. You were all right. One of my space engines uses magnetism, the other one is electric. I've been standing in a downpour here it's everybody else still in the drought.

I'm soaking wet. Nice clean water too.

It wouldn't cost so much to build. It doesn't use a crankshaft and has a lot less moving parts. If a shop jumped on it using basically off the shelf parts I think it could be in a prototype in a year to two years I imagine. You would need some people versed in Fluid Dynamics.

It isn't something I can do in my apartment. I've tried starting a company a couple times but I've had some heart issues so what happens is I start getting too serious and my heart starts to vibrating and grinding too sometimes, so I had to give that idea up..

Thanks! Actually my heart must be overly strong so it over reacts to stress that way. My health tonic has cleaned out my cholesterol and my resting pulse is under 60. Not too shabby for someone 58 and 270 + having had heart seizures, angina, two complete stoppages and a major heart infarction. A little apple cider vinegar every couple weeks also helps keep the cholesterol plague off, and aspirin sometimes.

      You're a real good fella there to be concerned. Try these for size => http://tinyurl.com/6k2wkd + http://tinyurl.com/200yearsyoung + http://tinyurl.com/doctorbillsvaccine.

Right now I've discontinued faxing anybody. There's always someone there intercepting my faxes and apparently destroying them. I like telling people they're possible and how they work, as you've noticed. I find them refreshing. Anyway, I just found these two great weight loss products called Anoretix and Leptorexin. I'm not throwing in the towel just yet.

In 2004 and 2005 I would write Sen. George Allen of my progress a couple times and he seemed to read them, but then he called a fellow a macaca and it came out the fuel people were giving him free rides in their personal jets so I stopped that. In our economic reality today the idea of having my engines doesn't dovetail with what they want. Politicians & corporations alike know if they don't have barrels of tax money pouring through their nets they might {ugh} be like us.

I like em because it stops the Pennsylvania farmers the Amish from having an advantage over me, saying see, we use horses while you use {ugh yuck} cars that pollute the earth. My engine evens the playing field. Everybody can exceed the Amish's advantage. The Amish gave us a goal. The Hopi said it was a goal we would have to gain.

My engine is a mechanical heart, in essence a living engine without leaving horse poop on the road, without belching and methane gas out the rear end. without needing to be fed.

My engine is cheaper than a grass fed horse. Faster. More powerful. Cheaper. Lee Majors!

    • Because it has nothing to do with what you posted, which YOU WON'T or CAN'T REFUTE. Don't pass off some diversive BS 2000 political taking point as valid in a post about Arctic ice melt. If you can't refute what he said in Copenhagen, stop giving orders to me and others about responding to other posts. It was already responded to MULTIPLE TIMES since 2000. Your motive is very clear now. And of course, you hate them all except Sarah Palin who you want to f**k. Is that how it goes? Spare me please.

I have read everyone of your post on this story and i find your blind devotion to Gore both hilarious and disturbing. You shout about FACTS and yet you fail to bring any to the table that you didnt get from an inconvenient truth. If facts are what you are interested in try looking in more then one place and try using sources that dont stand to profit from "the truth." Never trust those who stand to profit, plain and simple, they are the bad guys.

And can you please explain to me why NASA has recently discovered that Mars's surface is heating up too. Because i didnt think greenhouse gasses had such a massive effect.

    • WOW! "ClimateGate"?!?! "It's a conspiracy"?!?! It's a scam"?!?! "The Earth is fine, we're not hurting it, nothing's wrong, my money is way more important than the planet, we don't need to change or fix anything"?!?! "Al Gore wants to ruin our lives and devour our souls"?!?!

Are we that selfish, greedy, malicious, ignorant, devoid of foresight and/or unwilling to change that we can honestly say HUMANS DO NOT HARM EARTH?!?!?!?! And while we argue, deny and debunk .... the destruction we've worked so hard at continues. Look around you. We've effed this place up pretttty bad, we continue to and we avoid responsibility.

Show of hands - who thinks the planet is in perfect health?

OUR greatest problem - Environmental Destruction - is not getting its deserved action. Part of this Environmental Destruction - Climate Change - seems to be the part that gets the most attacks. (CLIMATE IS ONLY PART OF THE EQUATION!) I agree that "Global Warming" and "Climate Change" are misnomers; they shoulda used a better blanket-term for ALL Environmental Destruction. But,... maybe scientists, climatologists and pioneering researchers decided to only focus on the climate factor because it was imminent and encompassed everyone. (Or maybe they wanted to drain our cherished bank accounts and decrease our luxuries!) Folks debunk scientific "warming" theories by way of Earth's natural climate shifts. Yes,... Earth always has natural climate shifts. So what? Does that mean that we're free to pave, poison and kill anything we want?! NO! Just because there's natural climate shifts,... that doesn't mean we have no effect on the climate or the planet itself. (What - my lungs will stop working one day anyway,... so cigarettes aren't bad for me?!) Climate will not only naturally shift,... but Earth will even try to counteract any warming WE'VE caused. (And a cold day is in NO WAY proof!)

And now,... this recent increase of people disbelieving Environmental Destruction: For some dumb reason,... people think that fudged data, lies and possible criminal activity somehow diminish the original cause itself. Sorry,... but these unfortunate things happen no matter what cause it is. (Human fault, as well) So, because SOME scientists MAY have lied, findings MAY HAVE BEEN altered and SOME people MAY be scamming,... that proves that we're not hurting Earth?!?! Deplorable human behavior will unfortunately always be commonplace,... but it's not the cause's fault. Earth gets exponentially jacked up whether Al Gore "lied" or not.

Regarding those who deny Environmental Destruction, I cannot decipher what their main motivation is. (Are they too stubborn? Too mentally incapable? Too scared? Too comfortable in their routine to make dramatic changes? Do they just hate being told what to do and what not to do? Is their wallet their highest priority? Too religious?) And what do Environmental Destruction deniers see upon viewing their surroundings? What do they learn when they see a landfill or smokestacks pour out of factories or littered shores or stores full of carcasses or increased diseases or parking lots where forests once stood or population increases or plastics everywhere or traffic jams???????? Do they see our wanton destruction? Or do they see a "scam" and a "lie"? Sad. Very, very sad.

It's sickening to live in a present-day that is reluctant to fix what WE'VE broken. Even a remote possibility deserves action. But this ain't no "remote possibility". This is a "for-sure" thang. We, humans, Earth's bane,... are still causing detrimental (and pure evil) damage to this planet. THIS IS OUR HOME. SAVE THE PLANET,... FOR YOUR CHILDREN, FOR OUR FELLOW EARTHLINGS, FOR THE FUTURE AND FOR THE PLANET ITSELF!

Look, Dude - I went to the mall today, and I hated it too,... but don't take your mall-hatred out on us. If you think a post saying humans harm Earth is bullshit,... then I pity you.

    • OK tags removed again. No biggie I can do that ALL NIGHT LONG.

I will ask again. WHY doesnt anyone even try to dispute the fact the he makes money year after year after year after year................MINING ZINC ON HIS LAND all the while telling us how bad mining is? He is a fraud. He tells us all about global warming and how bad it is or global cooling or whatever he is telling us now but doesnt stop flying around in his private jet? why doesnt he stop eating meat even though no one here will dispute the fact that cows are as big a problem or worse for the enviroment then we are? Step up to the plate and be a man AL GORE and practice what you preach or shut the hell up.

I will stand corrected on one point Jan. As a politician I would say I do hate Al Gore the politician, I do not hate Al Gore the man. I do not hate any humans. I only hate what they do, their acts.

And there are exceptions to every rule. Ron Paul would be a good example although I am not a huge supporter or anything I dont have anything against him. Same would go for Dennis...I know I wont get this right but....Kucinich.

    • I agree it's annoying to see stories tagged out of spite or anger, but that's a pretty small issue. Let's talk about the FACTS, many of which have been posted but none refuted. I haven't even heard any "talking points" - if your whole argument here is "Al Gore fucked up his source info", is that really a big deal? The arctic melting isn't a lie, sea level rise isn't a lie, and if you want to say climate change is a lie, let's see some real info. So a politician has a cause; does demonizing him discredit the entire cause?

This is not even close to funny therefore i removed that tag as well. there is no diversions here either so those tags were removed. Thanks current for giving me the power to remove those tags although I believe that power was givin to people because I used to add stories others put in with CURRENT PROPAGNDA OR DNC PROPAGANDA. • Rush Limbaugh says we're too puny to affect the climate much. He's wrong. Climate is a collaboration. If the climate is warming + we add our 2 cents additional greenhouse contribution to the plate then we have $1.02, but if the climate goes to cooling and we happened to be dropping the level of greenhouse gases at the same time we could cause a Mini Ice Age to be Maxi.

A world population nearing 7,000,000,000 does have enough effect to push the thermostat into a negative tipping point.

Climate change is a slow moving cumulative something of primarily natural forces and inertia. What we see now is the result of us stacking pancakes too high on an already-full plate. The climate pancakes might fall toward more warming, or the stack might fall toward more cooling, but either way the stack falls it falls on us. It might would be an intelligent move to back off doing what we've been doing to a previous greenhouse gas output.

Climate change isn't the only thing going on deserving attention =>

#1, our solar system appears to be drifting into a meteor field
#2, the solar flare radiation can increase, at any time coming out of its lazy period
#3, when that happens it starts short circuiting communication satellites and all things electrical on Earth

#4, all of which means we're moving into an unavoidable Armageddon scenario.

#5, not to mention bad scenarios but all these young people who are Stay-Connected Addicts well, many of them are in such a deep addiction if the electronics suddenly goes down they very well may suffer a heart attack and die from an adrenaline overload oxygen burn. At present they are on a junkie high. I could see millions dying if the power was to go off and stay off.

Humanity's present situation is perhaps 500% worse than most people may think. Since we don't have the right engines getting built, and we don't have a mass spacecraft program for everyone to escape, our position on the field is really poor. The other team controls the ball on 5 different fields.

Since the government isn't making much moves worth salt lick I tend to feel they've put in place protections for the few and the rest are cannon fodder. We're painted into a corner where our only hope is divine intervention.

    • Gravity_Man:

Of course Mr. Gore is a very popular man, almost revered by some, because he delivers a message that says we don't need divine intervention, that we can do it. I prefer being honest. It doesn't flood my checking account and people don't chant my name...

I see that some people scrape the ground to bow low to him because he began writing about the problems many years ago, as if he is a true prophet. I submitted a system to get clean energy from lightning in 1989 to the Department of Energy and they did nothing with it. I did much more than WRITE BOOKS explaining the problem I showed how to AVERT the problem.

Some people have skewed priorities. My engine systems since then have also been clean locomotion and more clean energy, and perhaps they would have gained some momentum if people hadn't been so busy spending millions making movies about the problem -and buying the movie tickets to watch the problem- and went ahead and solved it.

The knowledge has been here all along. The person solving it has been here all along. I have nothing against Al Gore and I do like a good movie, but the majority wanted a political slash movie star FROM YOUR CAMP so that's what you bought into and that's what you paid for, and the problems grew a lot worse, because you made the wrong choice for Goliath He-Man of the Universe and Professor of the Year but mostly the institutions who should've ran with the game balls I gave them didn't do their job.

Your institutions dropped the ball. Bush hired people to argue against my engine systems online, which set my progress in ice water. Now you spent many billions on a presidential election hoping to elect a new Goliath to carry the ball over the goal line. So what did he do after his election? He hired an Energy Czar FROM YOUR CAMP who hates inventors like me who have the energy systems you need.

For all your voting you're doing a great job of running away from the goal line... and that's what prompted me to write you really do need divine intervention. It isn't a popular idea but it is the truth. Where you are today was predictable. I knew it in 1989 but, I felt compelled to press forward on your behalf anyway, so that in the future (today) no one would be able to say if we had only had this advantage or if we had only had that advantage we could have made a better showing.

You, your elite college buddies, your institutions stuffed with college alumni and your college-spawned "Leaders" have had EVERY ADVANTAGE => because I wasn't the only inventor out here solving the problems. There's been others before me, Tesla, Floyd Sweet in 1987 showing how to harness the energy of aether with his Vacuum Triode Amplifier.

I think you and "your children and grandchildren" slogan have been sold down the river of slavery by all your buddies who have apparently cut a sweet deal with the Devil like John Lennon and then Paul McCartney. Ask yourself how many Presidents and/or their wives are consulting ouija boards and crystal ball mystics from the great halls of the White House.

Chu was a masterful choice. His name rings synonymous with Michio Kaku, your great thinker swami who gives you those words you so love to hear We Can Do It. Loving words about time travel, portals and the multi-verse that may or may very well not exist and certainly isn't anywhere near proving.

You all sopped it all up like a sponge in the desert sun.

Chu, another movie star reminded you of Checkov or Sulu.

I understand your frustration. I have been pulling my hair out over this sense the early 90's. Somehow we need to get the consciousness of the developed countries to change. Earth is the only spaceship we have at this time.

I stopped feelin frustrated sometime in 2004, once I accepted this ship was headed where it was bound and determined to be. I didn't stop working, inventing or writing, but I decided in favor of a zero ulcer policy. hahaha

When an 800 pound gorilla is sitting on your chest it's the only choice. The choice to commit so many billions into geothermal then to find out it contributes toward seismic unrest is just another pancake on the stack.

    • This argument is the biggest waste of time, ever! Just finished studying a subject at Uni called "environmental change", ultimately climate is influenced by the Milankovitch theory, everything else is short term changes, what the hell does this mean to me. Absolutely nothing. If whatever is happening is caused by CO2, theres nothing we can do, if it isn't, then there is nothing we can do. In fact all this effort flying around discussing and campaigning, flying to the poles and back, then being surprised the ice is still melting, isn't helping. I find it surprising that as humans beginning in Africa, living through an ice age and various periods of hotter and colder times, we are silly enough to think, oh the climate is changing what can we do too stop it.

I really think that the emails were taken way too far out of context, to the point that any reasonable person would be forced to dismiss this whole thing. It's important to be critical of anything like this broad campaign, but condemning Gore as a fraud before public discourse has taken its course is the real problem here.

    • Delia I didn't know that some lightwieght from MTV took over Current TV no wonder it is all drival! I too have made friends here but having said that, Current has a duty to the public to have these stories on current heard, and seen by a wider audience, they fail that duty! they should fire the MTV lightweight, and the so called on air talent, and hire the right people. This site is a joke because these serious, and important stories, never get seen except for here! Hate to say it Jan but AL Gore is a fool for not taking currents mission seriously! Please everyone don't send me stories to comment on please! If I come here I want it to be my choice so any emails sent will be deleted without comment!

    • Delia have you ever watched current tv? not one serious news story just stupid inane crap which resembles little what is on the website, and their on air people just don't impress either it is all drival, not important news stories which deserve to be heard. As far as censorship goes well Al's people do censor, not to mention that current allows evil people to flag your comments just because they disagree with your comment.lastly I used to come here everyday but now every three or so and only when people send me stories to comment on and I WISH THEY'D STOP! It's really unfortunate that instead of putting drival on TV, instead of real news, none of the important stories we vote on never get aired just the same drival you can see on access hollywood and other drival shows! IN MY VIEW CURRENT IS A JOKE!

I watch Current TV, less now than I used to. Current was just taken over by a former MTV guy so I really don't have high hopes for the direction the station is going, but Vanguard is good solid journalism and some of the other shows are pretty cool. I prefer the website because it has interesting news from a large variety of sources and a cool community that I've gotten to know.

    • I agree on global warmimg Delia, but I completely disagree with your contention that Current does not censor, because I have been censored by current, and had my account suspended for two weeks due to the simple fact that current only allows comments they agree with. This site is so stupid because with all the serious news on the site, only the most stupid, unimportant stories get on current tv does it really matter how we vote? don't care if Al Gore strecthed the truth or not! Global warming is real that is what is important! am amazed though that since Al Gore owns this site that his censors let this through!

"current only allows comments they agree with"

This is untrue. Be real, your account was most likely suspended because you violated the community guidelines in one way or another several times. I have gotten my comments taken down due to personal attacks or other violations as well; it's not censorship, Current.com has every right to remove material that violates it's rules, rules we all agree to when we come on this site.

Just as they will not "censor" this story, they are not going to "censor" your comment either just because they don't agree or don't like it. The proof is in the pudding; this story is on the main news page and I've seen many stories revolving around Current themselves up there as well.

The only true case of censorship on Current was the situation with the Vanguard journalists in NK. Every other time, I'm sorry to say, it's typically a case of comments or stories being removed or locked due to a violation.

If you think the site is so stupid, you are welcome to make it better or not come to it.

there is one minor exception to this in that while the two current TV journalists were jailed in North Korea current did seem to take down everything about them.

There is a fairly good journalistic ethics basis for this even ignoring the fact that they were people they knew who could actually be killed because some off his meds couch potato decided to start making wild claims. I think they get a bye for that one.

I agree here. The complaint of censorship rings hollow. Evidence might be nice. Do you have for instance have the email they must have sent you saying why action was taken? They do generally send one out. Even if you claim to have thrown it away I'm sure they still have a copy.

Maybe this response will actually post. Firstly, I will defend him when I believe it is warranted. Secondly, are you a scientist? Do you have data to refute what he stated this scientist claimed? I love how this has been transposed as "him" fudging numbers when it was the Dr. who originally stated them. Thirdly, with the current rate of melting of perennial ice in the Arctic and the ignorance of humans in understanding its ramifications and the urgency of it factored in, I do believe we may see a complete disappearance of summer ice within the next five to ten years and a continuance of less winter refreeze which is really the problem, as ice below the surface due to warmer water is melting at a faster rate. Even if Al Gore did his own testing based on his own models and came up with the figures he reported, it would be as it is with any scientific prediction, a prediction based on certain factors. How can those numbers or any numbers then be called "fudged" when you don't have anything scientific to refute it? I would suggest then that if you and anyone else has a problem with these numbers you also take it up with the scientists like Dr. Maslowski who did indeed quote the five year scenario as recently as last year. But again, don't let actually searching for the facts cloud your kneejerk reactions here based on who the subject is.

Well then if you mean that you should then leave me alone to respond as I choose here. Why does my defending the man bother you? He has done much in his life to advance awareness of a real danger to our species and our planet. He has also donated much of his money to that cause. In other words unlike many others he has put his money where his mouth is. You want to align yourself with those here who simply make it about him to appease their petty political grudge, fine. He has my respect even if i don't agree with him on some things regardless and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

      Technically, it wasn't a lie.

As far as Al Gore, he is a good businessman but he should leave discussion on climate change to the scientists when media is around, media will be sure to pick up any missteps by him

    • It's too bad he made that mistake. There are so many folks that believe that pollution has nothing to do with climate change. That unfortunate blunder might damage his credibility a little and make it harder for people to understand that pollution will always damage nature. He has to unfortunately watch every word more than others.

Didn't the Supreme Court reverse their decision either after Bush left office, or shortly before he did, technically meaning that Gore was the President for the last eight years? Methinks it's kinda bullshit how the Supreme Court is trying to cover it's ass like that.

    • Wait, what? Al Gore is... human? This changes everything!

Seriously, though, if there was ever an example of how much Team Bush ruined the public discourse on science, this would be up there. Do you people even care about facts any more? Is it anything more than some kind of "gotcha" game to you people?

Let's pretend, for a second, that Gore was maliciously lying here. Somehow, he forgot that he has a whole legion of dittoheads shouting "CONSPIRACY!" every time global warming proponents make some kind of mistake. Does it make any difference? Are the years of data and scientific consensus somehow tainted by their outliers?

You want to argue with me? Back it up. Go find the data. Ask climatologists. I'm sure they'll be happy to talk with the people who spend all their time undermining people's hard work.

      Humbly awaiting your response,
