      Blending in, maybe. I tend to agree more with Fareed Zakaria. It isn't that the United States has fallen to mediocrity. It's more that the rest has risen to become like the United States.

      There is nothing specific in the article that indicates that the United States is becoming mediocre. I think this shows Zakaria's point.
