Why do women do this to themselves??

It's not just christina aguilera as you may have noticed, but more and more women seem to be wearing higher and higher heels.
Look around any town on a weekend night, and not content with giving themselves pnumonia by wearing the skimpiest dress without a jacket, these women put their feet into contorted painful positions all in the name of 'fashion' or more importantly, what they are told is fashion!
I know this is not a Liverpool girl thing, i've seen this in many cities across the UK, it was minus 3 degree's the other night, but these women are convinced they are in a miami heatwave!
so why do they do this? my answer would be because it's what the 'celebrities' and models wear, or it could be that so many women have height complexes, either way I hope it's a fashion trend that dies out soon, unfortunatly these womens feet and bodies may be feeling the effects for some time to come.

    • I wonder too. It is possible to get laid and even have a good relationship without destroying your body, or even making it look like something it's not. I think these women have been trained otherwise, but I feel so fake going out with heavy makeup, boob boosters and high heels.... Not only does it represent a physical me that does not really exist, but a psychological one: I am so not that person in real life.

      Exactly!! that's what i'm trying to say!
      If i go on a night out i feel like i need to dress up seeing as all my friend will be dressed up, we're flocks of sheep that must always follow eachother for fear of being left out by being the black sheep.
      But i'm getting better, lol. I havent wore high heels in AGES, and my feet thank me for it after a night out, i dont have to take them off and stumble round the streets with no shoes on like i've seen so many women doing!
