Couple tattoos kids with homemade gun, don't change the needle
http://www.ajc.com/news/couple-arrested-for-giving-265194.html
A newspaper in the area has the story and the part about the needles, it's not online yet or I'd post it.

From a personal end it is not something I would do or condone. It relives me to hear the tattoos are not permant as I don't think anything permanent should be done to a minor. On a legal standpoint, Ga's law says minors cannot get a tattoo period. It doesn't matter if the parent's consent is given or not though this is different for each state.
If it was any other state without that law I would say she is parent. Where do we draw the line in law on what a parent can and cannot do with their children? I don't think she was stupid. I think she doesn't see an issue with a non-permanent tattoo that she herself did and not some stranger. This incident by itself doesn't make her an unfit mother just different values than some of us. She should have done her research to determine if it is something she should do within the law.
For those who are curious, below is the link with a sumary of tatto regulations by state. Not sure how recent this link is but it is interesting.

Is there an age limit on tattooing kids? In my state a kid can get ink as long as the parents are there to sign for it.

In Georgia it's 18. These kids were 10 years old to 17 years old.

This is just disgusting. It pains me to hear about incidents like this. I'm not so sure if a "parent license" is necessarily the answer. It's a sticky situation when you start talking about who can and can't have children.
These people definitely should not be parents. That I do know!

Why does Current have to fake the headline?? It doesn't say anything about not changing the needle, not that it has ANYTHING to do with the story.

The original story stated this. This is from my local area and it's all over our local newspaper, they just don't have it online yet.

People like this make me wish that there was a way to not allow people to bring new life into the world without meeting some standards. The problem is, whose standards? We are so fucking doomed.

You' ve got to have a license to drive a car. It's way harder to raise a kid, but you do not have to prove shit to have a kid. Just open your legs.

It seems strange that parents are allowed to pierce a baby's ears, but not tattoo them. That being said, anyone who uses the phrase "that's why I was trippin so hard" should step back to reconsider their child rearing standards, and maybe check before putting an un-sanitized needle into their child's skin for no medical reason whatsoever.
She says "I would never hurt my kids" -- what, does she think that getting tattooed (by an AMATEUR, no less!) feels like receiving a gentle massage?

Tattooing is illegal unless you are 18 years of age or older. Piercings can be conducted if the child is a minor with parental permission.
I was shocked when she said she would never harm her kids but then goes on explain how she wants to tattoo them. I've been tattooed, and it fracking hurts!

Idiocracy incarnate.
this woman makes a powerful argument for forced sterilization. Such people should not be allowed to breed.
Tattooing a child is despicable. I am not sure about jail time - but the parents need mandatory parenting classes and close supervision at the least.
7 kids growing up in squalor with ignorant trailer trash for parents makes me weep for the future.

squalor and ignorant trailer trash.... wow....
i'm not on the bandwagon of tattooing children but i allowed my three year old who begged for months to get her ears pierced...
i wonder if that means i also live in squalor, in a trailer and never had the chance for an education?
is the culture she was raised in and lives in less valid than your own?
seriously, i do not agree with what she did, but it is a cultural difference and does not reflect her parenting as a whole, or the conditions or value of her home, or her education.

WTF... they call it a "small X" that she tattooed on them. From the pictures I saw it seems pretty clear that she was tattooing crosses on her kids, small crappy crosses.
I don't see the big deal unless she was pinning them down and forcing them to get the tat while they screamed for her to stop. They obviously wanted them.
I mean really... there's so many worse things going on out there. Now this lady is facing jail and possibly loosing her kids... just sad all around.
