This has been a problem nationally and now it is a local problem as well. KATU News found at least half a dozen ads in the past month on craigslist making pitches like this: “I help you with your bills if you share your love with me.”

VULNERABLE?!?! Get serious! I'm a woman whose lived on welfare before, and there are many things a woman can do if she doesn't want to trade sex for a roof over her head. And if this is a good arrangement for her, why not? The ONLY difference between this and a conventional marriage or is what rights she has under the law. Its NO different than just about any bimbo who marries an old guy for his money with a very strict prenup in place.

I believe "Rent-for-Sex"/marriage should be legalized. Kidding aside...really? It's the woman in this situation being taken advantage of? Everybody knows, when it comes to sex, women make the rules men deal with it.

The police are overburdened as it is . If it is between two consenting adults , it is not a crime . Make it legal and let the cops catch REAL bad people .

Prostitution is illegal in most states, however, legal loopholes allow Sugar Daddy arrangements in which "affection" is traded for material goods. Prostitution needs to be legalized already. What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their homes is no business of anybody else.

'Vulnerable women' my ass.
I'm sure there are a lot of men being financially exploited by cunning women- it goes both ways. Look on Craigslist right now and you'll find tons of ads made by women who solicit men for an 'allowance' in exchange for sex.
Anyone who answers an ad like that knows exactly what they're getting into. You can't be more honest and blunt about the nature of a relationship than a 'sex for money' ad... Those ads are probably the only ads on Craigslist where you actually know what you're going to get...
Also, this article is extremely slanted and sexist. There is nothing in the article that shows women are 'vulnerable' in this issue. No examples of abuse or anything like that, just the cops intuition that women are 'prey' and men are 'predators.'

Apparently ads asking for sugar daddies aren't news anymore. Is it any surprise that there are two sides to this practice? Sex in exchange for financial security is no new issue in society it has been going on since the time of financial systems, before I guess it was for mammothial security. Is this really such a big deal? Is this really a valid use of police enforcement funds? One person gets their emotional or physical needs met while another gets their financial needs taken care of, these people aren't really buying into a slavery system. There are no long term contracts (assuming they wrap it up), no interest fees hell sounds like you're getting screwed a lot less than if you're forced to take out another credit card.
