Dear MoveOn member,
As the tragedy in Haiti unfolds, Americans are generously donating millions of dollars to aid organizations.
But when Americans donate to charity with their credit cards, the credit card companies get rich. In some cases they keep 3% of the donation as a "transaction fee," even though that's far more than it costs them to process the donation.
It's outrageous and wrong—and it needs to stop.
Can you sign this petition to the CEOs of the major credit card companies demanding that they waive their processing fees for all charitable donations? Clicking here will add your name:

My question is: With all these commercials requesting us to text "Haiti" to 90999, how much is being skimmed off the top to make cellular phone companies and other corporate buffoons killer profits? With so many scams and Wall Street hucksters, it is hard to trust even the supposedly "legitimate" organizations.

Yeah, while you're at it don't have a credit score and don't get a loan to buy a car or a home.
Just build a car out of the tree in your backyard and get three jobs and sell your kidneys and do whatever you can because the free market works no matter what and if it isn't working and your society is collapsing just go to a megachurch and let a businessman, I mean pastor, convince you that everything's ok and if you still feel bad it's because you aren't working hard enough.

Actually, rappers, get one and just pay it off every month so you build up a credit rating. Just don't run up a balance. Credit card companies hate customers that pay the entire balance every month.

lol Now... if you are putting your donation on your credit card... is that true charity? Giving away money you havent earned? why not just go down to the local red cross, and give them a cash donation. You'll feel better about yaself.. and you wont have to pay a 19% interest rate on it.
