the Scott Brown election is a historical political upset that is going to shake the Washington. Scott Brown won in a landslide in that great old Liberal Lion’s backyard. Ted Kennedy held that seat for 50 years, and the district has always historically voted for the Democratic Party. Last presidential election they overwhelming voted for change and with less then a year in office, people are disappointed with Obama and the direction the Democratic Party has taken. If a Republican can win in Massachusetts, then a huge change will come if the Democratic party doesn’t start listening to the American people and deliver on their promises!

Wrong, because the republicans are just Lite Democrats. The truth is, as long as we have the 2 party system, our country will continue it's decline. The republicans have tried to institute NUMEROUS unconstitutional programs and are just as anti-Liberty as the democrats now. Either party you put in place, the same old government backed corporatist policies will be fulfilled. The sad thing is, people like you and the Keynesian liberals are still brainwashed into the whole 2 party disease that is slowly stealing our liberties. What we need is a revolution and the republicans are not going to bring it unless it's Ron Paul or some other Liberty candidate. What you are doing is supporting statism, death, war, taxes, the Federal Reserve, the CIA, the IRS and all these other unconstitutional programs that have caused more harm than good! Quit being sympathetic to the traitor republican party, and yes, the democrats suck also....

I guess I wasn’t clear enough in my comment. I wasn’t praising Scot Brown or the Republicans in anyway or defending the Democrats. In fact, I was trying to make a point that simply voting for the sake of change alone is going to get you nowhere. Your right as long as we have a two party system all that is going to happen is a constant changing of the guard. But with all the same rules in play.

You libertarians are funny as hell, there is no such thing as a free market! Here is the analogy and please get over yourself's a free market would be like a football game with no goal posts no rules no referee and a couple of people showing up with helmets and pads and some with uniforms and many without any idea what the hell is going on. Da!

Taxing and spending are needed, its what pays for the roads, pays for the troops, pays for the sewers, pays for the schools, the firehouses, the monuments, the parks, the subway systems, etc...
To be against taxes and spend is the most rediculous thing in the world. Your basically saying you want to live in a world where there is no government. if you want to do that then im sorry but youll have to leave the USA. Afterall, what is the point of government if they dont build the bridges or prevent the banks from obliterating your money when they fail (yes, the governemnt did do that, without them intervening the banks would fail and you would be left with no money).
Oh and Obama's ideal healthcare bill would give the people of this nation more freedom and boost the economy. A public Option (77% of Americans approve of) would create a government run healthcare to compete with the private insurance companies, thus lowering the prices that private healthcare firms charge. Now think, who do you think benefits? YOU. Because youll have more money to spend on buying your widescreen tvs or your starbuck's mocha frappucino that tastes the same as a starbucks latte. Thus boosting the economy.
Oh but wait....theres no point in saying all of this because government is automatically bad.
Only the dumb deal in absolutes; black and white.

Haha you are the one dealing in absolutes my friend. No one is saying the government shouldn't spend at all but when Congress is asking for another TRILLION in terms of a spending cap, then there is a problem. I am confident everyone here believes in some form of government but I don't think you grasp that people are for LESS and MORE government, not the abolition of government or spending.
When people are saying they are against taxes and spending means they are against the current amount or an inflation in spending or taxes. I can't believe I am having to explain this.
As for the healthcare plan... it is a terrible bill littered with superfluous spending. There is always a better way, especially when it comes to this. Don't settle for this piece of shit legislation.

Brown ran a classic outsider campaign. Coakley ran a horrible, insider campaign. Coakley took the voters of Mass for granted, and she paid for it with a loss. Brown worked hard and smart. By running as a Republican but acting like and claiming to be an Independent, he had the best of both worlds, and won.
The libertarian/ free market crap is a red herring; it is just more meaningless and boorish ron paul spam from the cult of ron paul.

Obama is not for free markets, doesn't even understand the term, but is, in fact, a big government, tax and spend, liberal.Brown's campaign succeeded because he was the anti-Obama, anti- big government candidate, at least more so than his opponent. Disatisfaction with the freedom limiting and economy killing healthcare bill, government spending etc that is making its way through the White HOuse and Congress propelled Brown to the Senate. Let the others on the Hill take careful note as to what happened and adjust thier outlook accordingly. I hae already called my reps and told them to take a lesson.
