What did the Corporate $upreme Court do to our democracy? or, How we lost Democracy under the Law...

On January 21, 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that corporations are entitled to spend unlimited funds in our elections.

The First Amendment was never intended to protect corporations.

This cannot stand. Sign up to protest this decision and protect our democracy! Free speech is for people — not corporations.

    • There should be a limit on camaign donations.
      Maximum begin around $200 mil or so.
      That's a number in which public donations from citizens can be reached easily.
      This way coporations can only give enough to reach a limit of which any other candidate could reach with no problem.
      This way it takes any power away from the corps.
      Imagine an ad saying candidate "A" recieved $100 mil in corp donations or 50% of donations came from corps.
      I think it's safe to say that the bad candidate would be easy to spot.

    • Good point counselor. The federal statutes define a person in two formats. One being a natural person hence a living breathing human being. Two being an unnatural person hence a corporation. The constitution does not make this distinction. Since constitutional law superceeds statutory law. Can we then say that an unnatural person is an unconstitutional entity.

    • Hmm well, why don't we force everyone to vote and get rid of the bad electoral system. That way our votes will really count and not be screwed by these super rich congressman in a presidential campaign. This works for the Australians then why not for us? Besides America isn't a democracy if we don't have any voters. We need to limit the number of times a senator can be re-elected because for many there's a disadvantage to bring change. If everyone voted I bet more people would be conscience of who really is beneficial for our state and who is not and that way candidates would have to fight fair and square. . . but that's just me. I think half of America doesn't even know what's going on in our laws until it hits them right then.

      Corporations shouldn't have this power because they aren't citizens they are businesses. If we were socialists I'd beg to defer but because we are a free-market who can run business internationally from within the United States that means businesses have control, possibly of even foreign policy who's stretched out to poor countries. Don't you see its all about who gets the power? A business will do anything to make money, not to benefit the people. If businesses are allowed to intervene with politics then we should convert to a socialist-democracy.

    • Okay, question. If corporations now have free speech because they are "people", can they now be prosecuted for crimes and have their administrating bodies be sent to prison?

      Filed against a Corporation based in Pennsylvania, Gap International with self-claimed Deep-Government-Connections >> http://www.gapinternational.com/clients.html .

      Judge John M. True III on behalf of Gap International, dismissed our case against the Defendants, stopping our six year attempt to get a Jury trial for the crimes committed against us.

      I was born here but, today, I don't even feel like citizen anymore. Judge True who was mysteriously substituted into our case in the last minute, replacing the Honorable Judge Barbara Miller, took all that all away from all of us when he ruled his own twisted version of the law.

      (1) First by, denying us the right to our our attorney.

      (2) Then ordering that I represent my own case in Superior Court as "Pro Se",
      this was against my will and against strong protest!

      Judge True's quote; "If I tell you that you have to represent yourself in court... Then that is exactly what you will have to do ! SO, DEAL WITH IT ! " end quote.

      By doing that; Judge John True denied our right to trial and right to equal justice under the law.

      We never could have imagined someone could commit such thefts against us, and then steal all our email to and from our investors with intent to destroy our business until... it was too late.

      Today, I find myself looking back after six years still living this nightmare. It seemed that the only thing that I had left after the theft, was one thing. My deep (but, false) embedded belief that in the end, that, Justice and the truth would prevail." With that belief, I moved forward spending over $100,000.00 in legal fees in the last six years in our search of justice.

      But unknown to us, the ultimate theft was yet to happen...

      In the last six years I was in front of many fine Judges that I respected. But now, out of nowhere a new judge appeared, a judge that was substituted into our case as our trial judge “Judge Barbara Miller" disappeared. Like a scene from a bad movie from the first moment I was in front of Judge True he seemed hell-bent on one mission. A mission to destroy our case! We then watched Judge True systematicly reversing Judge Millers decisions and then canceling our trial and dismissing all charges against the defendants after six years, right in front of our eyes... with no attorney. It just didn't seem real ! This type of stuff isn't supposed to happen. That wasn't Justice !

      After six years of hell in our search for justice, watching our Television Broadcast businesses G.A.P. International, along with our WIN-TV NETWORK both intentionally attacked multiple times by the Defendants. Only to find, that it is one thing being robbed like we were, seeing both our businesses attacked and intentionally destroyed. But, the real crime is when as a victim, you expect justice for the crimes committed against you. A right promised to you from birth. A pillar of your belief in America is then systematically stolen from you. "As you watch your Constitutional Rights" sold out to the highest bidder with a wink and a nod. As it was with our case, after our search for justice. A long journey that ended in the theft our civil rights and the denial of justice under the law by the person we looked to for help.

      Why did this happened to us?
      Because a corporation based in Philadelphia felt that they were untouchable and above the law. They felt they could just take "our legally owned property" from us. And then, systematically destroy our business and through power and money could subvert the fabric of our judicial system to twist the law AND STOP THE TRIAL to cover-up their multiple acts of theft.

      WHEN CORPORATIONS CAN USE OUR COURTS AS A TOOL TO SUBVERT THE FABRIC OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS THAT PROTECT ALL CITIZENS. THEN WE ALL LOSE.
