3 from central KY police department indicted - WAVE 3 TV Louisville, KY |

RICHMOND, KY (AP) - Three members of a central Kentucky police department have been indicted on charges they were involved in trying to intimidate a woman who initially accused them of sexually assaulting her.

The Richmond Register reports that Richmond Patrolmen Garry Murphy and Brian Hensley were charged with aiding Sgt. James Rogers in attempting to influence the woman's testimony. The indictment says Murphy is also charged with fourth-degree assault for allegedly smacking or hitting the woman.

The newspaper reports the woman accused them of assaulting her Oct. 27. The next day, she recanted the accusations during an interview with Madison County sheriff's office investigators.

Editorial: Does anybody want to guess why she changed her story after her interview with Madison County Sheriff's office investigators? I know from experience what goes on when talking to police about police corruption. Way to ruin it for the good officers guys. Let's hope they get prison time so they can find out what a sexual assault is all about.
