Nazis adopt a highway in Colorado

Image
unimatrix0
The chapter of the National Socialist Movement in Colorado, a white supremacist group, will be heading out on the roads to pick up litter in the Mile High State. Calling itself America's Nazi Party, the organization is participating in an Adopt-A-Highway program and will be responsible for picking up trash along a 1-mile (1.6-kilometer) stretch of highway in a suburb north of Denver.
A sign is already up in the area with the group's name on it. The state allowed the charity work because it could be in violation of the group's freedom of speech if denied.

    • Interesting....this situation is like Satan helping an old lady cross the street. No, they aren't the nicest people in the world - but they do have a right to do this. Still, it is kinda conflicting to think about this.

    • I like Dehlia. She's one of the smartest people on this site. When I use to just read certain articles posted here (before I decided to sign up) I read what she posted because she has a very fascinating opinion that I really like.

If I remind you of someone else, that is fine. The internet doesn't have that face thing where people can see what you look like. So they have to base everything on words and what words are used and whatever. I have seen his posts as well. I should be very offended that you would compare me, but I won't choose to be. Everyone has their right to think what they want of whoever they see and even though I would deny what you have said it doesn't matter because this topic is about the Nazis that want to clean a highway.

I'll let my words speak for themselves.

Oh and I like Dehlia's avatar. She's pretty.

Who has been promoting them? I think that it's important that people have outlets as long as they do not harm others physically or mentally. Allowing them to exist isn't wrong and thinking that they are doing good with this clean up isn't wrong. Anyone thinking that it's a positive thing are not wrong for doing so. Doing so also doesn't mean that they are promoting their way of thinking.

    • As long as they are doing something positiive, I do not care. This story could have been about them doing something negative, but it wasn't. I am choosing to not let the word "Nazi" bother me about this piece. Let them eat cake!

On the other hand, I wouldn't want to be a local with no choice, but to drive on Nazi Highway. Especially if I am Jewish! How must that feel?

    • This is funny many because this is incredibly old news. Controversial groups have been using the adopt a highway program for years. Since its a federal program, courts have already ruled that they cannot limit access to the program solely on the ideas held by the groups. For example, NAMBLA has a section of road in Ohio, the KKK has a section of Interstate 55 in Missouri, and the American Nazi Party adopted a road in Salem, Oregon.

The annoying thing is that when the signs get vandalized, which they invariably will, its the tax payer that has to pay for the damage.

Did it happen recently or are you referring to an event that happened about 75 years ago? An event that happened before any of these people in this American Party were even alive? The merit of a person is based on them and their own actions not of those from the past that happened to be under the same name as them.

And it's the freedom of them that we should be happy for. Once their freedom is restricted because of their thinking it's only a matter of time before it's your way of thinking that'll be silenced.

Your question isn't a question but an accusation. I am glad I'm not a liberal like you, if you are one, and more like a liberal that has more love.

But thank you for sharing your view of my thoughts. I appreciate it none-the-less.

Are you just being blatantly obtuse, or are you a Nazi apologist?

i.e., What they (the Nazi') are and profess to believe is one thing; you are right, it is the American heritage to believe what you choose. . . however it does not mean that they have my approval or support in any fashion. . . and also the freedom to discriminate is as much a right of mine as it is theirs. . . and I despise their Ideals.

C'mon, don't continue being obtuse. . . certainly they're free to clean the highway, possibly getting out into fresh air might clear their addled brains. . . at least that is a possibility of hope.

Thank you for answering my question. I don't see the problem with them cleaning. Why do you find it a problem? Or are you using this opportunity to attack them because of your own dislike of them instead of what they are doing? Why is it wrong to focus on what good they are doing? Negative thinking does not help matters become better.

To focus on the good deeds or intent that one does and ignore the evil intent and purpose beyond those superficial good deeds for "show," is not only foolish but disingenuous to rational judgment and moral turpitude... and it seems that reviewing your comments throughout this post that from your perspective it appears that you whole heartedly embrace the Saul Alinsky liberal perspective that "the end justifies the means," and that elucidated form of thought does not express moral clarity to me.

I asked you what evil that they have performed outside of disagreeing with what you think is right and what answer did you give me?

As far as I am concerned my liberal ideas are more right than anyone else's based on that fact alone. So unless you have me something concrete to give me I think your radical views of what is ok for someone who doesn't agree with you to do is is not worth responding to any more.

Bad attitude. We're trying to get along with Nazis, I mean Republicans. What's wrong with a little holocaust here, and a little genocide there? We have to have a political balance.

I NEVER get mad at anything but this upsets me(bigots in general). Close mindedness is a horrible thing to have. Let them pick up our trash.

    • This is crazy. These are the social problems that arise do to our government, and our monetary system. These people were raised to believe that racism is still alive and that there are higher races, which is all very ignorant. Anyway check out my videos please...

Uh, joke's on you, bailey.... but to be fair, Jon sent that one right over your head....

Unless... unless you're CHOOSING to side with anti-semitic, racist murderers because they're picking soda cans up off the side of the road, and that makes it all ok. No, I'm sure it can't be that. Only a horrible person would think that way...

Even though I am an evil Jew who these wonderful highway cleaners believe should be exterminated, I volunteer in an after school program, volunteer at the library - reading to kids, and donate money to various charities whenever I can. To ask your own question, bailiey, what have YOU done lately for your community, other than say things that make people believe you're siding with Nazis?

So what? I don't give a shit about their ideology, and I don't think too many people out there do either. I do care, however, about the First Amendment; and how it guarantees EVERYONE the right to think and believe whatever they want...including Colorado Nazis.

    • I doubt they even really care about the stupid highway. It's probably for publicity for their group. Maybe their ranks are running low. Sad thing is that it will probably work and more narrow-minded people will sign up..

    • Do not get me wrong, i am not advocating the National Social movement or any of its subsidiaries! I am simply pointing out that people are entitled to their beliefs, how ever weird and screwed up they may be. Furthermore I think that we have far bigger fish to fry in our twisted society. Your argument that homosexuality is not a choice is less than concrete. What about so called "Gay for Pay" adult film "Actors". What if i had said transgenders in the military? People are who they are and you cannot change them or even hope to. Gays will be gay and racists will be racists. Are we really that closed minded that we would not want someone doing actual good in society simply because of their beliefs? If so where do we draw the line? Free speech is meant to be just that. If you were injured in a burning car would you not let someone help you to safety if they were a member of the national socialist movement? Demonizing anyone based on who they are is the very reason why you hate these people!!! Hello Pot...this is the kettle....YOUR BLACK!!!!

    • Their beliefs and opinions are horrible to me, but, they do have a right to have them. The state had no choice. We have to take the positive with the negative if everyone is to have equal rights. At least there will be a small stretch of road that will be their responsibility to clean up. Might be a good place to erect a big sign to remember the holocaust.

Now, finally someone posted who actually has a brain. Cynics criticize whilst winners analyze!! If you all are really that upset then put your money where your mouth is and pay to put up a sign on that stretch of highway in memory of all those we tragically lost in the holocaust.

Funny how Corporate Criminals didn't make your list, even though they are responsible for our economic crisis and use up far more of your tax dollars in the form of tax cuts and subsidies for the rich than all welfare recipients combined.

As a liberal I feel that it's important that all freedoms be embraced by all who are abiding by the laws set before them. If you have a law that they have broken that this article does not point out then please share and then inform the authorities so that there can be a proper investigation. Thank you for being a concerned citizen like I am for the environment.

There is no way that you are serious. This has to be a joke. "Who cares what their personal beliefs are, if they are doing good in society...?" Please, please tell me you're kidding. No one is that ignorant.

How is being a proponent of death for all people who practice a different religion, in any way connected with "doing good in society???" If a person thinks that cleaning a highway is enough "good" to cancel out a lifetime of psychotic, racist, Nazi behavior.... well, lets just say that person should be on the side of the road picking up trash with their buddies!
