The people have awoken from their KoolAde induced slumber- people don't like being force fed pandering and effusive comments on Obama disguised as "news". Now, a word from Howard Zinn, hero to the Left, as quoted in the Nation. (2 weeks ago) "I think people are dazzled by Obama's rhetoric, and that people ought to begin to understand that Obama is going to be a mediocre president....." Listening to CBS talk about Obama's brilliance, they make themselves about to be shilling for Obama. And if Howard Zinn sees through the flowery sounding B.S. of Obama adulation, it's time all the other leftists to se through it as well (including all the television networks)................

This is what the results of this poll say to me: Fox news viewers pledge allegiance to Fox, they trust it blindly, watch it religiously and defend it bitterly. They are apologists for a network that has mastered the art of molding opinions.
MSNBC, CNN, Bloomberg and other news networks don't create the same myths around themselves. People who watch Anderson Cooper or Wolf Blitzer aren't invested in the success of those people. And in cases where they might be, like say with Rachel Maddow, the market is fragmented. I like Maddow, but I wouldn't say I like MSNBC anymore than CNN or Current. I think people who watch shows like Maddow's typically don't put their trust in news institutions, the way Fox viewers do. They're more enlightened than that.
If anything, a poll like this proves there is no liberal media. That, while the decidedly right-wing media machine may pull in better ratings, it's because part of their strategy is to convince their audience that any other media outlet is biased which A) makes them trustworthy and B) justifies their bias. The contradictions, of course, are staggering.
Of course, Fox will use this poll as a way to promote it's station, but the truth is, 'most trusted' is not 'most trustworthy.' Of course, I doubt the average Fox news viewer will see the fallacy.

My questions are what were the other choices given on the poll and who funded and conducted the poll?
That and when Time magazine conducted a poll of who should replace Walter Cronkite as the nations reporter--Jon Stewart won with 50% of the vote and all the other news reporters split the other half--the irony being Jon Stewart is a comedian and the Daily Show is fake.
So I guess next some poll will show that Glenn Beck has now replaced Howard Stern as the self-proclaimed king of all media--who will then have to step aside for the self proclaimed Queen of all media--Sarah Palin.

Out of curiosity, does the poll show that FOX is watched more than all other news channels combined, or does it claim that FOX is watched more than any other individual news station?
I ask because if FOX outdoes every other news station on an individual basis, then whoop de do. They market stupidity 95% of the time (yes I pulled 95% of the time out of my butt, so if it appears unofficial or just plain smells funny, you now know why), and I can believe that there are that many stupid people in the United States, so it's not that surprising that FOX would have be more trusted than any other individual news network. Its like the blind following the blindfolded.

This site is for entertainment. I think some people here realize that we can't take everyone seriously, and that's not necessarily aimed at you or what you have to say. I don't fact check, because, well, even if I checked it's nigh on impossible to empirically verify anything, and I only believe what I believe, and these stories can only, in the most marginal of fashions, confirm or deny my beliefs. I don't fact check because I don't have the time nor the energy to do anything but think for myself, and ensure that in the swirl of lies that might very well be the internet and mass media, that I don't take anything here too seriously. If I did, I'd forget that this is just entertainment, albeit from an alternative, and thus increasingly entertaining, approach.

It's clear you dislike Fox but there is a lot of exaggeration from both sides. If you would just look at this pollster's history you can see who they favor and it's not the right ( idk where you're getting this). That's it man if you disagree it's ok but it's all right there.

The conservatives you talk about are such a minority and the opposite of what you talk about is true too. Look at these posts, most are not even completely true but favor the liberal (conservative equivalent) and everyone just goes alone with them. @fhavenger09
I'm sure the countries to which you are referring are countries in which their dollar is greatly weaker than U.S. dollar or countries whose population is not even close to Americas.
So when data says U.S. (exhibt A) spends $10 billion ($U.S.) on education and Third World Country (exhibt B) spends only $1 Billion, you have to take into to account the exchange rate. Where $1 U.S. can equal 30-100 of thier dollars. So in reality we spend $10 billion in our money but they spend $30-$100 billion in thier money.
And if you would also have the decency to only campare the U.S. to countries who are as developed as the U.S. and have similar populations you would find that there are none.
The only country that comes close is Russia and they only have about 144 million people and spend a little less than half (% of total government spending) of what the U.S. spends with thier population of about 300 million people.

Only under Obama has the annual funding to schools has hit over $100B ("defense" is over $850B) The gov chips in almost 10% when you equate how much local govs spend.
There are 65M school aged children in the US... so the gov spends about $1,500 per school aged child (4-18) in the population. Wow! $1500! That's almost $160 a month out of the school year.
You're right, that's too much. We should bump it down to $200 per child and put it in "defense".
By the way... you're wrong that the US spends the most. France (excluding higher education) spends a higher % of it's GDP. The US only ties with the UK.Besides, it's not JUST funding that our schools need. But funding is the only thing most Americans understand. There are countless social problems that make our population as dumb as those who work for, and watch Fox News. The big one being our greedy and selfish culture america sows.

You neglect to mention that the French do not have an over bloated Military and Prison system leaving them enough money to properly educate thier population. And that France is ranked 12th in education where as the U.S. is embarrasingly only 18th.
The point is that the U.S. does not spend enough on education. Plus we have shows like Tila Tequila and The Jersey Shore. That can't be helping.

I think this is a prime example of how we as people, despite being social animals, tend to isolate ourselves with like minded people. "We" cannot imagine people liking or trusting Fox News because we do not prefer to interact with people that do. It is so often said that the internet is uniting people when it really doesn't. We have more choices, we may be able to contact and interact with people around the world, but we are still going to limit our interaction to people we are comfortable with.
