Sarah Palin's fund-raising committee spent $63,000 buying copies of her memoir, "Going Rogue," in November and December of last year, ABC News reports. Palin directed the committee to buy the books to send to donors. SarahPAC also spent $8,000 on "Going Rogue" bookmarks and $20,000 to send a photographer along on Palin's book tour.

"Going Rogue: An American Life" sold a million copies in its first two weeks in stores. HaperCollins added an additional million to its initial printing of 1.5 million copies, sending 2.5 million into print from the start.

Palin is not the first public figure to use her own fund-raising organization to underwrite sales of her book. Senator Joseph Leiberman turned down royalties for the copies of his memoir, "In Praise of Public Life," that were purchased by his campaign committee.
