Former Teacher Accused Of Sex With Students

Abigail Nichols, 24-year-old teacher formerly at Meadowbrook Academy, has been arrested yesterday for allegedly engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy. She has been charged with lewd and lascivious molestation.

Police arrested Nichols last Tuesday at her home in Ocala. Detectives say the former Meadowbrook Academy teacher was reportedly giving a 16-year-old boy answers to tests and having a sexual relationship with him. Another 15-year-old boy had a similar story.

OPD officials were notified about the alleged incidents in the end of the January
, when a woman told an officer there was a rumor at the school suggesting that last summer Nichols had performed oral sex on the woman's 16-year-old son. Detectives met with the woman's son and another 16-year-old at the police department.

The first boy told Bowman that Nichols taught him 10th-grade history, that he did not have to do homework and that she reportedly gave him answers to quizzes. He said they became friends and, last June, she came to his home. While watching a movie, he said, they kissed and she performed oral sex on him.

The second 16-year-old told the official that when he was 15, he and some friends were hanging out with Nichols and she asked if they wanted to ride in her Jeep. He said while they were in the vehicle, Nichols, who was in the back with him, gave him permission to touch her breast, which he said he did.

    • USA has the most stupid law in the world. In age of 16 you can have sexualy activity in most of the countries in the world. In US it is a great crime. Pathetic.

    • Too often these female teachers go uncharged or they get a simpel slap on the wrist while male offenders get punished to the full extent of the law. Wether male or female any adult having innapproate contact with minors should be thrown in prison.

    • I have been severely scarred by this, as well. My old babysitter took a job as a teacher near where I grew up only to get caught having sex with one of her students a few years ago. Why not me i wonder? Was I not funny enough? Was my pre-pubescent physique not formed perfectly enough? So many questions. I will carry the inferiority complex with me for the rest of my life.

    • I doubt anyone would agree with me, but throughout history, even with beginning of this country. These acts are not uncommon. It is like the war on drugs. Pot was was not a "no no" until recent history. Take it like this. There are some religious nuts that live near me that marry off their daughters early in age to sometimes double their age. The reasoning is if they are married then they want have sex out of marriage. The world turns it's eyes to case's like this and yet we demonize others for the same thing, really. Time to ease off this hang-em by the tallest tree and let's see if she may be a sex-addict in need of counseling. I say let the one without sin cast the first stone!

    • I DON'T UNDERSTAND THESE WOMEN! This teacher is MY AGE... GO TO THE BAR AND HAVE A RANDOM ENCOUNTER WITH SOMEONE YOUR OWN AGE! Just the idea of being turned on by an 8th-9th grader makes me want to puke!

      And I really think society is very hypocritical, because at what age did you first have and desire sex? I'll bet it was before you were 18 years of age.

      I'm not saying the teacher has good ethics, however at 16 years old, a teenage boy has raging sexual hormones and is aware of what sex is and desires sexual contact.

      In some states in the USA it's perfectly legal to have sexual relations with a teen age boy of this age. Why the difference in laws based on what state you are in? This is one country isn't it?? Spbbshh.. Whatever.

      OH NO YOU DI-N'T just defend this teacher!!! It is just plain wrong. 16 year old boys may well desire sex, but her taking advantage of those impulses directly contradicts her duties as a teacher and role model at the VERY VERY least, even if the legal age of consent is 16 in her state. Which is only really a (poor) argument in one of these cases, since the other boy is 15. Nevermind the fact that she was trading sex for grades and privilege, which is a whole other can of wrong and illegal.
      This IS one country, where society views adults who have sexual relationships with children, (all humans under age 18, regardless of consent laws), are regarded as vile. Furthermore consent laws are not in place so a 40 year old can sleep with a 16 year old without consequence. Generally the consent is only legal when the age difference between partners is 3 years or less. This is so an 18 year old who sleeps with his 16 year old girlfriend doesn't get lumped in the same category as this teacher. Sexual exploitation of children is a serious problem and to make excuses for abuses that are occuring is vile as well. I'm thankful to not know you in person and that you aren't polluting my community with your attitude of "This is America, so we should be able to have sex with any teenager we want to." I hope to everything that is holy that people who will justify this behavior do not have contact with children.

      All human development aside.... as an older adult that teacher should have had the common sense to not entertain those thoughts by children. Then we want to know why the kids don't respect teachers or administrators in schools. As a teacher she knows what's right and what's wrong (or supposedly).
