10,000 U.S. veterans of the Iraq war have committed suicide, more than twice the amount killed in combat. But their stories remain untold in a shroud of military secrecy. The U.S. government does not want you to know.
My question here is about military honor. How can it be honorable to kill innocent people? How decent do our troops feel after having killed and dehumanized an entire country of people?
There are always government shills to testify that these troops are the few. That is a lie. Racism is a matter of military policy, as is dehumanization. It has to be. Otherwise our troops could not begin to deal with the killing of innocent people that they have to do as part of their duty to their country.
It is not honorable to be part of this U.S. military. It may be an honorable pursuit to serve, or to want to serve. But the reality of what our troops have to do is anything but honorable and anything but a protection of anyone's freedom. That is why we see so many commit suicide as they try to deal with this impossible dilemma.
