This survey was sent to every Utah lawmaker along with over 1,300 marijuana users via Facebook and contains enlightening, surprising and some shocking information about current marijuana use and breaks stereotypes in all aspects of cannabis use.
According to the survey (which had more than 50 completely anonymous responders), 75% were males and 25% were female.
98% of those who responded to the survey had at least tried marijuana once and the age for first trying marijuana was by far the highest in the 13-16 year range, with a reported 62%. Only 8% reported starting between ages 1-12, 22% from ages 18-23, 2% ages 24-30 and 6% reported first using marijuana age 30 or older.

I agree a 50 person survey is hardly a breakthrough achievement.

Current, you might want to think about adding a weed tab to the top of the page, there are enough stories on here to justify it.

Take a fucking statistics class people, this survey blows. Maybe not as a survey of Utah pot smokers who are part of this organization, but definitely as a measurement of smokers nationwide. The people who responded to this survey are much more likely to have strong opinions on the matter than people who are selected randomly, skewing results. I'm all for legalization and whatnot, but this is bad/insignificant reporting.

I noticed (because it's glaringly obvious) that cannabis stories never get picked as the 'feature story' on Current either - no matter how popular it is.

Well put dude. Its bullshit that the current staff picks what gets on T.V. now. Viewer created content my ass. All the stories posted by current staffers make it to the featured section with like 15 views and no responses.

I have Google News set up so that I see the latest marijuana/cannabis-related stories every day. I post the good ones when they come around. There's nothing that matters more to me than medical marijuana, decriminalization, and (hopefully, eventually) legalization. The sick need it, the government could use the taxes, and many different businesses would benefit from it.
And our prisons have tens of thousands of people who are wasting away because of a plant that never kills anyone--two friends of mine, as a matter of fact.
