    • I am sure this won’t be a popular opinion and I am in now way excusing the multitude of horrendous mistakes that have happened due to Blackwater operatives. The fact of the matter is that we need private para-military, professional security companies like Blackwater and others. They supply much need security for visiting foreign politicians, and help secure Iraq and Afghanistan government buildings that would other wise be easy targets for insurgents and extremists. Blackwater has garnered a lot of bad press because of some high profile incidents of what the public judged as unnecessary abuse and violence that has lead to death on a few occasions. What people are forgetting is that these paramilitary groups are former military personal and among some of the most talented and trained operatives on the planet. The U.S. military is stretch to the breaking point and we can’t afford to divert important resources away from our current objectives to provide security. Without private paramilitary firms like Blackwater, foreign governments in both Iraq and Afghanistan would not be safe to begin the long process of rebuilding their devastated nations. I have seen both sides of these highly paid, highly trained, extremely deadly and unbelievably arrogant arseholes first hand. As much as they pissed me off, I knew they were a necessary evil and an essential part of our path towards completion of our objective. ...photo above is a couple of Blackwater operatives running from a fire fight in Bagdad back in 05.
