Bouncing Bear Botanicals Store Raided. Jonathan Sloan charged with multiple counts of manufacturing, distributing controlled substances.
source: http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2010/feb/05/lawrence-man-charged-after-sacred-journey-investig/
• Unlawful manufacturing of controlled substances: Dimethlyltryptamine (DMT)
• Unlawful manufacturing of controlled substances: Mescaline
• Unlawful manufacturing of controlled substances: Lysergic Acid Amide
• Unlawful cultivation or distribution of controlled substances: Mescaline
• Unlawful cultivation or distribution of controlled substances: Dimethlyltryptamine; Chacruna; Illinois Bundleflower; Epena; Cebil Seeds.
• Unlawful cultivation or distribution of controlled substances: Bufotenine, Epena, Chaliponga, Cebil Seeds, Colorado River Toads.
• Unlawful cultivation or distribution of controlled substances: Lysergic Acid Amide, Morning Glory Seeds, Rivea Corymbosa.
• Unlawful possession of certain drug precursors and drug paraphernalia: Plastic jugs and filters used or intended for unlawful use to manufacture, cultivate, plant propagate, harvest, test, analyze or distribute a controlled substance.
Yet all of the plants listed in the charges are unscheduled and uncontrolled in the United States. This is groundbreaking from a legal standpoint because this is the first time anyone has ever been charged for the cultivation or distribution of any of these plants.
Many of these plants are sold at gardening stores throughout the country. People are legally allowed to grow them in their gardens and put them to any other use that they see fit. That said, these plants are not approved by the FDA for human consumption. The bouncing bear website complies with this by clearly stating that these substances are not being sold for human consumption.

How come when it's related to drugs, it's OK to trample our rights and there is very little push-back? Are 'drugs' or 'controlled substances' magical words that suck our ability to fight for our rights and the rights of others away? When did we stop sticking up for ourselves? When did we stop standing up against unlawful arrest? Law enforcement in this country is terrorism, and half of the American populace has been cowed into submission, while the other half is busy feeling superior, in all their finger-pointing, holier-than-thou glory. Meanwhile our freedom is slipping away.
Nothing illegal was done, but yet our society allows the police to terrorize us all. When we start allowing the police to terrorize us, it is going to affect everyone, not just people who are easily dismissed as inhuman by our heads-up-their-asses society just because someone used the word "drugs".
We should all be ashamed of ourselves for letting America become this ignorant police state we have here, profiting off of imprisoning people, making the rest of us into sheep using our fears against us. We constantly hear story after story about the cops brutalizing someone. Some of us mourn the loss of our collective freedom, while the rest of us revel in the joy that is seeing someone punished. I really am starting to think that humanity really sucks. I have little hope we'll get past this primitive way of thinking. We are doomed to live at the ignorant non-mercy, non-compassion that results from our collective ignorance and inaction... and the likes of Fox news.
We are America's prison bitches. That is our collective mentality. If you keep us safe, we'll let you fuck us up the ass.

Good to see this getting some publishing. I heard about this in my local news, since I lived about 5 walking minutes from the store front in Lawrence. It is comical that the "Feds raided this store", since it has been directly across the street from the police station ever since opened.

RESPECT THE PSYCHONAUTICAL IMPERATIVE
Sobriety represents such a slim portion of the achievable states of consciousness. Whether or not you believe in some force greater than yourself, it is hard to deny that consciousness is a spectacular phenomenon. Whether you appreciate it as a gift from God(s) or the the turning point in an epic evolutionary history, you do not truly appreciate it until you have seen the full spectrum of what it has to offer. If you use your government's laws on mind-altering substances as a guide for exploration, you spit in the face of your God(s) AND/OR the millions of generations of ancestors that gave you the opportunity to experience the wonders of consciousness. Alcohol and Nicotine enslave your consciousness into habitual behaviors that rob you of your freedom and your health. WAKE UP! You have a duty to humanity to consume as many different kinds of mind-altering substances as you can get your grimy little paws on (WITH MODERATION). Hint: The ones that are illegal are the more important ones to experience...

I think it is kind of Ironic that the Cannabis Laws are getting better all of the time while other herbs and cacti of such are being made illegal as we speak.
There isn't a san pedro "drug problem", there isn't a ayahuasca "drug problem", just like there really isn't a cannabis "drug problem" either.
People like to alter their minds, that is just the way it is, and has always has been the case throughout history.Hopefully he will win his case, and I say this, not just for him, because most of the ethneogen community don't like his greediness or his ethics record,
but for the ethneogen communities themselves, at least the one's who responsibly partake in plant substances, respecting the substance and the experience itself.
San pedro -
These columnar mescaline-containing cacti are readily available from plant vendors across the country. They can be purchased at mega-chains such as Target and Home Depot and are cultivated on government properties and in arboretums. Because of this, simple possession with no intent to ingest is de facto legal. Cutting a propagable section (over 5 inches or 12 cm) off of a live cactus would generally not count as preparation. However, slices, blended or boiled cactus material, pulp, extraction equipment, or any process of extraction could be considered preparation and immediately turns the plant material into a "container" for a Schedule I substance.Hawiian Baby WoodRose -
Hawaiian Baby Woodrose is not a controlled plant in the United States. Both the live plants and the seeds are commonly sold by botanical supply companies. However, it is important to know that one of the chemicals contained in the seeds, LSA, is Schedule III in the U.S. Practically, this means that if an extraction is done on Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds, the resulting LSA is illegal to possess.Psychotria viridis -
"Chacruna" is not a specifically controlled species in the United States. Live plants and seeds are bought and sold and are not generally considered illegal. However, DMT, one of the chemicals contained in these plants, is Schedule I in the U.S. Practically, this means that if an extraction is done on DMT containing Psychotria species, the resulting DMT is illegal to possess.Anadenanthera (yopo) -
Neither Anadenanthera colubrina, Anadenathera peregrina nor any other Anadenanthera species are controlled species in the United States. Live plants and seeds are often sold and grown. However, DMT, one of the chemicals contained in the plant, is Schedule I in the U.S. Practically, this means that if an extraction is done on DMT containing Anadenanthera species, the resulting DMT is illegal to possess.Bufo alvarius (Colorado river toad) -
None of the Bufo species toads are specifically scheduled in the United States. They are sold openly by pet and animal stores, though they are somewhat uncommon. Dried toad venom containing bufotenin is sometimes sold as chan su for use in Traditional Chinese Medicine, or as an ingredient in a topical aphrodisiac called "stone", "lovestone", or "rock hard". These forumulations are readily available, and laws prohibiting the sale of this bufotenin-containing substance appear to be commonly unenforced. However, a love stone vendor in Richmond, Virginia was charged with sale of a Schedule I substance and pled guilty in March, 2008Plastic jugs and filters -
What the.......I don't agree with how he handled the Toad situation or the k2 situation. But as for people calling him Greedy, I don't know, he is a business owner who pretty much cornered the market in the united states and from what I am told the entire world. But what is wrong with that? I think he brought a service that many people benefited from, including me, a whole bunch of times, maybe not the stuff he has been charged with but lots of herbs and stuff of that nature.
They took all of his money and $700,000 worth of assets, and left his bank $55,000 in debt. (I don't know how that works but ok) So I hope he can get some money and get a good civil liberties union lawyer and see if he can take it up to the supreme court.
Peace and Love.

But what if there's a person who knows which plants get you stoned and an extraction is done on the person, are the results against the law?
