A popular form of anxiety drugs use the same potentially addictive 'reward pathways' in the brain as heroin and cannabis, scientists have warned.

    • Society is impatient and always looking for a quick fix......the government knows this and are exploiting it...therefore making millions on our addictions and everything in that process, from rehab to the other drugs that help you get off the original drug.......just a vicious cycle

    • Whoa! Too Far!!

I smoked cannabis tons of times and never have I experienced any withdrawal symptoms like those you see in Trainspotting. You remember that baby on the ROOF.

Crazy business heroin, nothing like cannabis.

i smoke pot and to equate it with heroin is bullshit. i usually have 'primo', but if not, i don't have to go to an emergency room in convulsions. to try to equate it with crack or heroin
shows how stupid we all are.

    • THE DAILY MAIL IS A BRITISH TABLOID NEWSPAPER. This article is rubbish and holds very little evidence regarding the fact that benzodiazepines (Valium), are very different from drugs derived from opium (Heroin, Hydrocodone, etc.)

Its like saying alcohol is as addictive as meth because both are abused, yet there's no true pharmacological correlation.

STOP POSTING DAILY MAIL ARTICLES, its like believing in the Sun for your factual articles. I'm not supporting the pharmaceutical industry, but for fucks sake, where are these 'researchers' they claim said this? I could post an article saying monkeys are smarter than people if I can say some 'researcher' said so.

      RESEARCH YOUR SOURCES PEOPLE!

    • Cannabis is the least addictive treatment for anxiety, but it is not for all as sometimes it can cause more anxiety depending on the canabinoid cocktail in particular strains.

    • pharmaceutical companies give doctors a kickback for every drug they prescribe while they make sure you know you need to be on it, probably for life. we aren't people, we're dollar signs. wise up or they'll hook you next.

    • Yeah, when teenagers want it. It's addictive. Plain and simple. That doesn't mean we need to get rid of it. It's just means we all need to be realistic with ourselves. Not everything is completely good for us . Hell, if you drink too much water you'll drown.

    • these drugs and the evil corporations and complicit doctors that push them are destroying the very fabric of American life. It is time for us to wake up and stop being addicted to drugs in this country. just because they're prescriptions does not mean they're ok.
