The Knives Come Out: Far Right Attacks Brown as 'Too Liberal' a Month After Win

It was perhaps inevitable that Senator-elect Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts), who scored a stunning upset victory over Democrat Martha Coakley in the January 19 special election to serve out the remaining two years of the late Edward Kennedy's term, would come under fire from hard-line social conservatives once they learned of his position on abortion. Brown says that a decision whether or not to have an abortion "should ultimately be made by a woman in consultation with her doctor" -- although he does support the existing federal ban on late-term abortions.

    • Once again the GOP will destroy probably one of its best candidates for the future. Self destruction has become the modus operandi of the Republican party. Unfortunately for them, the people that are built to win the Republican nomination are also built to lose the general election; Sarah Palin for example.

    • FoosMaster, you don't know the half of it. There's a term to describe these far-right religious extremists that I'm frankly surprised that no one else is using: "Theofascists," for what they are advocating is nothing less than theocratic fascism.

    • The far right religious zealots will never be satisfied with anyone who is not Far right in All their policies. They are not interested in compromise or personal freedoms, just religious extremism, and they will not rest until everyone is forced to conform to their views. Looks like they are gonna be really sleep deprived.
