They need to have their case heard in a War Crimes trail. Then we can send them to Gittmo? and that would be letting them off easy

How this man is allowed to teach is beyond me. He deserved to be subjected to the treatments he espoused.

Right unclecharlie, he's been out of office a year now. We should just forget about the 150000 Iraqi civilians and 4500 US soldiers he caused to be killed for no reason. Lets also forget about the fact that he cynically used the fear associated with 9/11 to warp our "democracy" into his special brand of christo-fascist insanity controlled by our corporate oligarchy. Let's also forget about the fact that he instituted tax cuts for the rich in a time of war, raided SS of 350 million dollars a day and forced the US government borrow 1.5 TRILLION dollars from Communist China to keep the country afloat. (That's money we owe them back, with interest by the way).
As long as were tossing things down the memory hole, we should also forget Abu Garib, and torture as well as Bush's wonderful Supreme Court picks that literally handed our democracy over to our corporate oligarchy. Oh and lets especially forget about the fact that his administration DESTROYED an economy that was thriving under Bill Clinton. AND FOR WHAT? NOTHING!
Is your life better now that in 1999? Are we safer? More prosperous? Happier? Less divided? Stronger in ANY sense than before 1999? No. Yet like so many other conservative "ditto heads" you are ready move on and start shifting the blame to man who was handed a USA that was torn apart socially, economically and politically for eight bitter years. Sure, let's just make believe it never happened.
But to answer your question directly, we can't move on because the country and the world are still suffering from the powerful aftershocks of the Bush years. If you still can't understand/accept that, I'm sorry because can't dumb the answer down any further than that. Peace.

Yeah, I totally agree, but you lost me when you went down this line of reasoning:
"Is your life better now that in 1999?" That's Bush Sr's line, and is as fallacious an argument as any. Economies go thru CYCLES, as a NORMAL event, typically in 16 year cycles.
Methinks you need to take a look at the BIGGER picture here, and consider the role that 40 years of Cold War Fed expenditures played in causing America's current fiscal mess (not saying it's the only factor, mind you). While the Cold War brought the Soviet Union to collapse in the 1990's, the damage on OUR economy was not prevented, only delayed (think of the planes hitting WTC on 9/11: it took a few hours for the damage to cause the towers to collapse. The USSR fell first, and we're still awaiting our fate).

What is it with these nutty leftists? They address Dear Leader's incompetence and hucksterism by trying to shine a spotlight on the LAST president. Hey, you guys- he's been out of office well over a year now, so why do you keep trying to dig him up from his grave? Get a life. Look at your own leader's faults- and quit trying to shift the blame for your leader's failures on someone who is no longer in office.

George W. Bush is not dead. He walked off into the sunset. No accountability for his actions. I understand the frustrations of the right. The right is no longer in power, but that does not mean we must just move along to the wrongs of the past.
Bill Clinton was held accountable for a blow job. George W. was held accountable for 'nothing'. His own people wrote books about the wrongs of his administration and yet we just moved along. 'Nothing to see here, move along' was what happened during the Bush years, regardless of what occurred.
Nutty leftists, who want accountability for the wrongs of war? The righties who couldn't move along from a blow job, want to throw jabs at democrats, who want accountability for 'authorized torture'? Something is wrong with this picture. Calling names is not the answer. 'nutty leftists' is distraction 'name calling', which doesn't add to the conversation, it distracts from the facts. George W. condoned 'war crimes' with no accountability, or investigation.
Why are the American people supposed to 'move along' from the authorization of torture? It was a 'war crime' according to the 'quaint' document called the 'Geneva Convention'. Why no accountability, or shame?

John Yoo and Dick Cheney , are gonna rot in hell . If there is one . No one has that authority . Cause it is WRONG ! Authority does not mean you get to be a criminal . Ever . Just because it happens historically , does not make it right .

The president has any power he can get away with during a time of war. As long as he has enough lawyers to keep the other branches at bay while they argue it out in court.
